Anyone mature enough to be interested in music will almost certainly get some kind of emotional stimulation from it. It's one of the effects of music that makes it so appealing to most people in some form or another. This'll obviously help to advance your current mood (or hinder it), and that might well influence your playing ability. Me, I mainly play Jousting where success often comes from simple judgement or memory, so there isn't a great deal of mental (and therefore emotional) involvement.

i would say my mood sometimes affects how i play, but most of the time the results i get ingame are luck based

I listen to soft music while I play and it makes me better >.>
When it's metal I think that the game is boring and do less work out of it.

^why would that happen?
Meow, I am quite a cat these days.
Even though no one knows me, I know more about them than they know of me.
i listen to deathmetal or fast paced metal or punk (fast paced)
Activism is a duty, not a choice. Only through activism can we really make this a country for the people, and by the people. Cast aside your apathy. Don't stay behind closed doors.
Again, depends what such music evokes in you. If, like me, you find metal boring, it may influence you to become generally bored, or, if you find metal exciting, it might provide contrast with the game, making the game seem less exciting. Excitement equals better focus and higher attention levels, and whatnot, for the most part.

I just get angry when listening to heavy stuff, which makes me, especially in FPS'ers, less focused. I like to listen to chill grunge, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden and the like, or perhaps Nine Inch Nails and stuff around that tempo. It's not heavy enough to make me decomposured, but not soothing enough to make me loose concentration either.
