im going to use my own as an example. wich i took from Hellsing 4.
Download the movie with the part in it you want in the avatar.
Open up a movie maker program (for instance windows movie maker) and go to the part you want to have.
When you reach the parts, go frame by frame and take a snapshot of each one. (MAKE SURE TO SAVE AS .GIF!)
Now, download a program called unFREEZE.
Install it, open it.
Put every image of every frame of the part of the movie you want in the avatar in unFREEZE and press make animated GIF.
you wont have much quality loss + its fairly easy to use.
photoshop tends to decrease quality.
also, make sure that you get everything the right size. as i kinda was bored etc and didnt resize it correctly. (altough it usually does automaticly when putting it on forums.
