HTOTM: FUSION
I beg to differ, the GeForce is actually just under 10% faster when it comes to gaming. Hardly noticeable, and they're both crap TBH.

As he said he is just be comparing his aunt's laptop to his desktop.

Also yea skulfuk is right, I'm not 100% myself, since one is laptop and the other is desktop, but I am sure that the nvidia is faster.

In terms of raw performance, the NVidia chip might be able to pull out more performance. Also, take note that the NVidia chip can be overclocked since it is a desktop type (the ATI Graphics card can also be overclocked, but has a higher risk of overheating due to the fact that it is a mobile GPU AND it's in a laptop).

Age has nothing to do with it.

The Nvida isn't vastly quicker, and clocking it would only gain 3% or so which on a low end card isn't a lot. You're basically looking at gaining 1 or 2fps for clocking it at best.

>Certainly, age has nothing to do with it. The highest end graphics card from a couple of years ago might still be better than the modern day's low end (though technology is advancing at a frightening rate so it may not be that case later on).

>It isn't VASTLY quicker, but it's quicker nonetheless. I've overclocked that model before, and gained an extra 11%.

Anywho, if you're that concerned about your graphics card being weak (though it isn't a necessarily a BAD one), you can upgrade it to a more powerful one. For light computing, this one should be more than enough:
EVGA 01G-P3-1521-KR GeForce GT 520 (Fermi) 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low
