its not that bad. not that powerful and spectecular as most people want it, but clean.
Maybe you could continue ripping uke instead of hopping around =P

peronally i'd prefer if you didn't smack him in the head

Try to move all of your joints, that will give you more momentum.

Also, try to plan your hit more accurately.
