Apparently there's a bug to where you can't get them from winning matches anymore, or something like that. And I probably don't have the time for a tourney; still not sure how they work.. What other ways are there?

Make/sell textures.

The fairly new ranking system messed with the TC winnings.
There are plenty of other ways to earning TC.
You can:
Make art--Then sell it.
Participate in events.
Get involved in the market.
Get a loan from a close friend, and hope that they don't charge you interest.
