Racism
So this is a story that happened like 3 days ago on the weekend. me and cousin walking home from grabbing a bite to eat at the convenience store down the street then decided to walk back to my house. half way there a car drives past and someone in a car screams the word "niggers" and drives away.
At first me and my cousin laugh because it happened before in the same exact spot like 3 months ago and we wouldn't do anything stupid Like retaliate so then we keep on walking and when we get back to almost down the street from my house, we hear it again from a different car. I got a look at the persons face and he was an old black man
.
This is the first time I ever got called out like that from an african american and being of native indian and african decent myself it was quite the wow. Now in school I never got into a fight over racism or anything at all because I want to go to college. I want to keep stability in my life and the life of others around me and I can't have anything get in my way of that by acting on anger. If it doesn't put the health of myself or anyone I care for in danger I will ignore it.
My other friends say I should have beat those guy's up, I can but why act on it? It doesn't hurt me. why risk jail? I believe my response to this situation was the best possible.
I would like to know what the people of this 2nd home of mine, the tb forum does when confronted by racism of any form?
