I dont know if its a compatibily issue, im running a fairly new computer. HP pavilion dv7, it has i7, and windows 7 home(not 100% sure about this). I hope this helps you guys in troubleshooting the program.

Open stderr and check the error message, also post it here so that we have an idea what is going on.

For random moves, disable any running scripts. Also, you shouldn't be using tb.exe for multiplayer, you should be using toribash.exe. Turn down the graphics and you shouldn't have a problem.

Not really. We need to know your graphics card, too. Specific details about the errors are more helpful then general system specs.
