Recently, since about 5 months ago, Minecraft's Survival Multiplayer feature has not worked properly. Some Symptoms:

• Upon connecting, I find myself falling for a good 3 minutes
• Chunk downloading takes ages
• I see messages minutes after they are sent
• Blocks I break come back, on servers that I'm whitelisted
• Mobs are fucked up

This has been happening on every server I've been to.

I've been given the opportunity to be a part of a smp lp with my family, but I can't now, and I really would like to. Please help me fix this.

I had this problem for a while, try turning limit frame rate to ON instead of OFF which is what it is automatically set to.

You have extreme network lag.

Perhaps trying to ping the server may help you to diagnose the problem.

It could be anything from your computer's firewall or real-time virus protection to a misconfigured router.

I see messages minutes after they are sent i think you ment when you send messages it takes forever to be sended.

Those ^ are because of connection. The falling part is a glitch. Have a op teleport you.

Well, I'm set up with a router downstairs, and some kind of cable linking me to it upstairs, and I use verizon with it's security suite.
