Travian is a MMO Browser Micromanaging game that involves you choosing a tribe type and gathering resources to make a village, with a army and allies you can form a Empire and rule a large area of the map.



Travian has had a lot of updates and now it is in a more beginner friendly Travian V4 and after the first 10 days of beginners protection you should know all the basics of Travian and have a decent army to defend your self with.





No resources = No Expansion. You need resources to build, train, and even sometimes trade between other players villages.
You have to make sure that your producing more wheat than your village is consuming, the population increases all the time which means you need to keep a close eye on your food supply.



You need to Build so your village can thrive, more buildings the better, you may get raided so a Cranny to hide resources would be a Good idea, and if your making more resources than your Storage house can handle it would be a nice time to get a upgraded Storage House



Form a Alliance with friends or maybe just nice villages, for peace of for war is your decision.
Would you rather plunder the enemy's village, steal there resources and take over their village or would you rather send merchants over and send them a message hoping for a Peace Oath Between you both.
All this is your Decision.



In Travian you have a hero, you can send him to lead assault with your army or send him to scout out a enemy's village, maybe you want to use him and some men to go raid a far away village and bring home some resources or maybe you just want to have him go on a adventure and bring back resources or gear or maybe even silver.
If he dies don't worry, when you have enough resources you can revive him, the higher level he is the more resources and time it will take, so look after him well. The Hero is made to reflect you and you don't want to look half dead do you?



It is indeed wise to train you army early on so your not defenceless against your attackers, if you see a new village it would be also a good idea to send a scout to see what they have been doing lately, are they getting resources to expand there village? Or perhaps training Troops and planning to raid/destroy your village? All this is possible so its good to get information about your enemys.

You get reports after almost everything, from Adventures, Raids, or even messages in your Alliance.

Me and a In real life friend are forming a Alliance as soon as we get out of our 10 day Protection.
I used to play Travian a Year back but couldn't find friends to form an Alliance with, so I got bored of the Lone Wolf Act.
