i was hoping if you guys could help me fix my internet connection with my ps3.

well i just recently got my new internet router(cable not wireless) and i wanted to connect to my ps3, my dad went to the electronics shop and bought a Ethernet cable,(the type is cat-5e or something like that)so, i connected it to the back of the router and the ps3 and then went to settings>internet settings>e.t.c and i entered all my internet details e.g. ip address, default gateway, Primary DNS, secondary DNS and all that stuff, then i went to "test connection" then it was like this

IP address: succeeded
internet connection: failed
(then its said) this is a DNS error.(and there were some numbers something like)801.... and i couldent remember the rest.

so do you guys have any ideas of how to fix this?

your router security level is too high, this happened to me too.

This has happend to me aswell
It wont take time to fix.

did you enter them manually? if yes try setting them to automatic and make the test again. probably wrong dns
