Helping a friend pick a laptop
Hoping for comments on the following specification, as well as alternatives if you have them:
(Note, the budget is £600, the above specs cost £597)
I'm not all that knowledgeable about laptops, so I'm unaware of alternatives in general, however I would like to point out mac's aren't an option here, the user will be using linux/windows and already owns a copy of windows 7, and as such wont be needing it to come with windows 7, if it does that's no issue either, it's all about the hardware and extras.

Glossy screens are pretty reflective... Personally I wouldn't choose one since I use my laptop in mixed lighting, so no thanks. But if your mate wants one then sure...
Ram and processor are good, the card is good and has optimus.
500GB hdd is kind of small now days, may want to up it, better to spend an extra $50 now rather than have to get a second one or whatever.
