The Human Brain
The brain myth stating we only use %10 of our brains
True or false?
If false, what would we be capable of if we could use all of our brains?
Discuss and be sure to state your opinions on the matter.

Actualy there have been some discovery that we can use up to 70% of it. However that's only when we're in a deep sleep.

I've read that the most a brain has been active is %16 by albert einstein(shocker)
True.
Have you ever heard of lucid dreaming?
It is a true evidence that our brain is a machine.
Lucid dreaming is being aware of being in a dream. While in that dream, you can control anything you want. You can fly, build stuff, summon people/objects, fight... etc. ANYTHING.
That is because our brain is working much better, having so much will power that it is able to do that stuff inside your dreams.
In dreams, your brain creates and procedes the dream simultaniously, and it does it so well you don't even know it's happening, that's how powerful it is.
oh yeah

I've also had this happen on multiple occasions. Simply tell yourself that it's just a dream and you can change the dream in any way, shape or form

Yes. Besides your brain being smart, it doesn't know the difference between what is happening and what you are convincing it.

OFF-TOPIC: Do you practice lucid dreaming? I do too =D It's pretty fun to fly all over the place =P
oh yeah
This is extremely stupid. You use ONE-HUNDRED percent of your brain. You only use 10 percent at ONCE. If you used all 100% of your brain AT ONCE you'd start releasing chemicals you don't need to and feel pain for no reason and feel hungry and satisfied at the same time. It'd be a mad clusterfuck of bodily operation.
Hey got canned heat in my heels tonight baby
You know know know I'm gonna dance yeah
The brain could be used to a lot more of a capacity, it's just a matter of learning how to adapt to it, because, even though you can't control heartbeat, part of the brain does. You just have to figure out and manipulate the section that controls it.

In the course of evolution, the modern human brain has been shrinking over the past 28,000 years. The male brain has decreased from 1,500 cc to 1,350 cc while the female brain has shrunk by the same relative proportion. For comparison, homo erectus, a relative of humans, had a brain size of 1,100 cc.
(cc being cubic centimeters)

Metabolic studies:
If 90 percent of the brain were inactive, then those inactive cells would show up as blank areas in a radiograph of the brain. Again, there is no such result.

Also i do not practice lucid dreaming, if i can get myself to believe im in a dream then i will do whatever i feel like.
the 10% myth is false (read the "metabolic studies" part of Radi0 post)
but
i believe we have more potential/power in our brain than we know.
for what i've read, with meditation you can "light" your brain

let me explain a little better what i think.
you are using 100% of the brain but every % is for each function/though/action you do

but if you clear your mind some of those % would get free and would make you able to use them to "power up" a certain function you want, making it easier to perform
