I wanted to try something new this year, and when i saw my dad and uncle place 1st in state campionships and runner up in something I wanted to see if i could be state champion by myself...kinda. I am "good" at wrestling. I now shots and takedpwns and all that stuff. But i dont know submission holds like the spladle which looks very painful and the banana split which also looks painful.

I went to live wrestling camp and i almost beat a guy but he was just a lil bit stronger than me.

What i would like to know is the illegal stuff in wrestling. All i know is that your knee has to touch the mat first before you slam a guy and i cant find anymore rules online.

Also could anyone explain some good ways to take someone down?

be smarter, use their momentum when they are trying to bring you down turn it against them.

If both his shoulders touches the ground at the same time then you win. No punching no kicking. Only grappling. I did wrestling once. Long time ago.

To take someone down, you need leverage.

Get your right arm behind their right knee and left arm behind there left thigh when they are standing up and you are half way between a crouch and a stand. Then lift them up to the left with your hands (Use your hips for power) while simultaneously turning your chest to the right. Then when you feel them tipping forward after you lift them, jump up and drop to your knees on top of them, but keep one knee to the side under them so it is a legal takedown/slam.

I don't really know much about real wrestling to be honest ;)

But it works though, I tried on a few friends when we do MMA at school.
