Buying a new notebook
Well, I'm planning to buy a new notebook and would need a few opinions in this regard, especially the video card.

Processor: i7-2670QM - 4 x 2.2 GHZ cores with 6144 kb cache
RAM: 6 giga DDR3 with 1333 hz frequency ( can go up to 8 giga, but I don't think it's necessary)
HDD: Sata 640 Giga
Dedicated video card: Nvidia GT 525M ( 1 giga DDR3)

The price for this would be just below 1000 USD.
The graphics card is in the Nvidia GT 500 series, which is very good for today's games and should last you a while. However it is an M ("mobile" e.g. reduced performance for portable systems) so I'm not sure whether that would degrade it to the power of a desktop 400 series card (I wouldn't think so though).

Other than that, everything else seems great for the price you're getting.
And you're unlikely to fill up that 640gb hdd quickly unless you're in the habit of not uninstalling old games and programs and such.
It will be filled up in less than a week, the last HDD I had was the same size and I always had to make room for newer stuff. And yes, the video card is for portable machines and it's performance is adjustable, depending on if you keep the notebook plugged in or not. Thanks

Also, does anybody know a decent, cheap cooler I could also buy? I'm asking since I don't want some crappy one that only cools by 10 degrees or less.
cooler? are you going to overclock it? If not why would you need a cooler? When the laptops are put together, they utilize a nessecary cooling for it. If you aren't going to increase the voltage, or something, you don't need any cooler pads.

Also If you are really into gaming I'd choose 555m or 560m, for toribash 525 is more than enough.

In the most of the time hdd-s can be replaced with a "bigger one", or even with an ssd, so 640gigs should be enough for now.

Lol not for toribash, but I will probably OC the video card since it's just a middle class one. Plus, when playing, the temperature rises considerably and I think it might cause more damage on the long run.

I will also probably buy an external HDD, since they are fairly cheap. I don't know the cons of having one from a technical point of view though ;s

Thanks, I'll try to look for some 555-560 mm pads that will fit the laptop after I buy it

Even if running Furmark, it shouldn't go above the optimal temperatures, 70-80°C, unless you Overclock it. Even if you overclock it, it shouldn't go above 85-90°C, which is fine for a vga, although the laptop's cooling is designed for cooling the gpu without intervention of the user, so basically there is no need for a cooling pad.

Most laptops can't be overclocked through conventional means. They'd melt.

Furthermore, why would you want to spend so much on a laptop? You could make an incredibl powerful PC for that much. Sure, it's portable, yay, but you could just, say spend 800-900 currencies on a computer, and then by a laptop. Power & Portability.

Don't buy now, wait till the new AMD, Nvidia and Intel crap is out at the start of 2012, save your self a ton even if you buy the same setup, due to old hardware prices dropping.

Also the cpu is overpowered for games, while the GPU is underpowered, the GPU will bottle neck that system. While many games today can exploit multiple cores and quad cores, remember Intel chips have excellent single threaded performance when compared to AMD chips, so a duel core is all you need. The nvidia 540 should probably cover most games at higher resolutions, the 525 simply wont cut it. 6GB of RAM should be fine, and personaly I would buy an SSD not a HDD due to this: http://forum.toribash.com/showthread.php?t=317328

Oh, also, benchmarks of all mobile CPU's and GPU's:
