Hello there.
I've recently bought the progaming headset of progaming. I used to have one of these before and i was verry verry satisfied with the soundwhoring capabilities, unfortunatly it broke, this was a year ago.
So yesterday when my Creative FataL1ty V2 broke i decided to take a trip to the local "hardware store" and spend some cash on the headset i fell in love with one year ago.
So i bought it for 65 dollars and all was dandy, i plugged it in, dowloaded all the new drivers but it sounded like a cheap 5 dollar headset... i was heartbroken, and i still am.


Note: before i used windows vista, now i have not found any information about 5HV2 not being compatible with windows 7 ultimate.
Please update me on this if you find any useful information about this.

you have an integrated realtek sound card?
spaeker configuration is set to stereo?
headphone is in rear or front jack?
you did put it in the green jack?

if it worked with vista, I see no reason for it not to work with 7, they use the same Realtek driver.

try installing various Realtek drivers and checking:
for win vista and 7 64 bit
for win vista and 7 32 bit

dependent on your system (32 or 64) I would try 2.5, 2.55, 2.6 and the current 2.66

do these phones plug in your usb port too?
that mean they use digital sound from your PC and have a soundcard in the phones themselves, realtek driver wont do jack shit.


go to http://steelseries.com/support/downloads
click on your phones, and download what comes up, and instal it

after watching this:


all is clear

plug USB sound card, instal drivers for the USB sound card, plug the phones in the usb sound card and enjoy

/edit It's a Steelseries 5Hv2 Siberia not a Steelseries Shv2 USB, incase that matters.

does it have a thingy that sticks in your usb?

Thanks for the help, but it turns out that it was the headset it self that was damaged and not the drivers.
So i went back to the store and traded it for the HOLY FUCKING GAWD AWESOME REAL 5HV2.

Love is in the air ^^
