whats the deal with different sizes of textures?? and whats the difference if i buy a 'head texture' or a '512x512 head texture' in the shop?

The difference between 128x128, 256x256, and 512x512 textures is that they each allow larger textures to be uploaded, thus making the quality of the textures all the better.

The difference is 128x128 being of the poorest quality, while 512x512 being the highest quality. 256x256 is sub-par quality, meaning 'medium' quality.
