AI?
I was curious if anyone had ever though of introducing AI to Toribash. It would give a lot more options like Co-Op play, or even making Uke fight back if you want.

Just curious to see what people think of this...
We've thought of it, but then again...

AI + Toribash = Monstrous chunk of annoying code.

And monstrous is an understatement.

People have tried to add AI through lua.

Never worked quite perfectly.

The standardization of Toribash Squad roles may have gone too far!
Actaully there is a script about this.. You can look some of it in here.. And this should be in support next time..

Not necessarily. The concept of AI in Toribash can be discussed. Better discuss it here than in Support.

Like Blam said, there is a few AI scripts, but plainly, they suck. People are working on better ones, but like suo said, it is very hard to make one for a game as complicated as Toribash.

He's not saying it's impossible. He's just saying it would be a bitch to work with.
Actually it wouldn't be hard. The problem is we're stuck with using Lua. Without integrating it with Toribash itself, we can't do anything much.

Check the Lua Scripts forum for an attempt by tripwire to introduce neural nets. It's better than my old attempts, which ended up with nothing well. The current ukebot.lua distributed with TB is done by me, and was a very primitive attempt at something like AI, but it's not good at all.
