I thought a casual game in the gaming subforum would be a nice breath of fresh air.
My Tribe is a god game where you look after stranded islanders, and help them build a thriving village.
In My Tribe, you play as sort of a guardian angel for a tribe of island-dwellers, telling them what to do, dragging them from place to place, and occasionally sprinkling them with a (hopefully) beneficial potion.
One novel mechanic of My Tribe is that it rewards you for being around. Every so often a crate or barrel will appear in the ocean, or Stardust or Moondust will land on the island. Drop an islander onto these gifts to collect them. Crates and barrels contain recipes, items, or even dangerous insects while Stardust and Moondust can be used in various places to provide all sorts of useful effects, from stocking your stockpiles to building your buildings and researching your research.
All in all, this game is a cute little time waster, and only gets old after you explore every possibility.
And another interesting thing you can do in My Tribe: Each person has a percentage of mental strength and physical strength + hair color and skin color. If you want to, you can effectively use this game as a selective breeding tool.
I started with 2 blondes, 3 brunettes/dark haired, and a redhead. After just 3 generations, and within the lifetime of the original tribesmen, I ended up with 2 distinct race classes: A blonde, pale race with exceptional physical and mental strength; and a brown skinned race of brunettes, who aren't as intelligent as the blondes, but are strong.
Plus, incest breeding as no downside, since no one is born with deformations.
You can download the free trial here, and buy the full game here. For 10 or so USD.
I did a new playthrough, and in 2 realtime days, and 4 ingame generations, I successfully bred a race of blondes who chop trees down in 5 seconds. (I just keep this one guy who has max stats alive with the fountain of youth, and make him breed with all of the females.)
