Very nice 8/10 on this Wip ;) But the hair looks a bit weird D:

Thanks for the comments, I've added some color so it would be easier to spot the mistakes:

First of all, good job on the shading and the realistic look. Loved the way you did the eyes. But the way the hair is curved from the front looks weird, looks like that robot guy used a fuckton of hair jell. You still need some work on your robotic style, the sides of the mask seems dull. You should add more detail there. Also the back would be better if it was a part of the mask. The hair looks weird there.
Overall, add more detail to the plain parts of the mask, remove the hair from the back and make the back robotic.

As for making the back robotic - thanks that's actually a great idea!

Also what do you think of the colors used? are they too dull?

The color choice seems fine but you may need a few more colors for the robotic part. Maybe something which would look salient on your current color, for example yellow, or light blue.

I remade everything as I wasn't happy with the design of the previous one, here's the first WIP:

alright, mistakes with shading, shade the helmet better,
and the eyes are not meant to be swollen.
Just use more colours
