[TEX] Evorocket's LOZ Sheik
This is the latest set I've made, and evo660 is now the owner. It was made using Photoshop CS5 Extended version. The head is 512x512. The hands are 256x256, and the rest is 128x128. It is worn with marine force and lax. I made this one to evo660's specific requests. As you can see, this one is in a different style than I've been making lately. It has no transparency. I had to learn new techniques, to achieve the kind of hair he wanted. All in all, I had a lot of fun making this one.

Well, i can see an artist trying an different tip of art.
I mean your old sets is really different. In this case, you have to pratice more on that set, i mean, it's kinda confuse these textures, the legs doesn't have any sync with triceps and idk what you tried make in the arms.
Your set have good parts too, your intention was good.

Hey Sainzgc.

Thanks for stopping by and for the comments. Are you familiar with the Legend of Zelda Sheik character? This set is based on that character, as best as could be done without making joint textures. The triceps and body sides are covered in bandages, as are most of the fingers. The legs, thighs, and biceps are also directly based on the LOZ Sheik character.

Again, thank you for stopping by, I appreciate your support.

Really looks like Sheik. Good job with that.

I like how detailed and well done the head was, but it seems that the other parts were lacking in terms of shading and detail.

I don't see what's wrong with it. It looks awesome seeing as it has been based solely on the character. The body textures are 128, so (correct me if I'm wrong) it's quite difficult to introduce obvious shading and details without it being too obstructive towards the actual look of the texture.

Would have loved to see what it would look like in 512x512, but it's a very nice set.
You did a great job making the set completely the same as the character.
The hair looks so flat compared to the face, sup with that?

Thanks for the comments everybody. About the hair, it's the first time I used this technique, and there is definitely room for making the end result better. The challenge was making realistic hair, but if the hair are too fine, like real hair, the detail simply can't be seen from a distance, so I experimented with thicker hair strands. I think more contrast using dark shades could have added more depth, making the hair look less flat. I'll play around with that. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and commenting.

The problem isn't the thickness of the hair, the problem is that it lacks depth, it looks completely 2d. I know this texture is probably done but on the next attempt think 3d, make the hair follow the contours of the head, make the highlights on logical places and make strands of hair go on top of eachother in a 3d space (if you aren't planning on something cartoony ofc)

I don't know if realistic is what you should go for, but concider something like this maybe?

I don't know, couldn't find any good examples but.. Its close enough.

All that at the side I think your face drawing is excellent, slightly bad mapping on the side of the stomach textures and at the top of the hands, but keep on doing this stuff, you are good at it. I know how time consuming this stuff is.

Hey Ezeth.

The example you sent is an excellent one actually. It gives me ideas on how I could improve the hair. I did this hair in one layer. I could add multiple layers of hair, with the forefront ones having more highlights, and the underlying ones more shading. That would create depth and 3D looking hair. Thanks for the great tips and example. I'll try it on the Sheik character soon and I'll post new pics when I have.

Sincerely,
