Supreme Commander is a Strategy Game, it has a Campaign mode, which nobody really uses, because it is nothing at all like the online play, which consists of Fun Matches (with times two resources, I'll explain that later), do not, I repeat, do not buy Supreme Commander (without the Forged Alliance) if you are wanting to play it online or with friends, it does not have online play on that as it was sort of like a Beta, Forged Alliance is the one you would want to buy for online play, plus, Forged Alliance has better units / experimentals (also later explained). The four factions are: [UEF], [CYBRAN], [SERAPHIM] and my favourite, [AEON]
Mods of the Game
Now, on to the 'mods' of the game, which are installed once you download and install it through Steam / however acquired. There are 5 mods altogether: x2 Resources, Nothing But Time, Fixed Income, Hunting Grounds, and another one if I can remember, I'll edit that in later (if there is one). x2 Resources is quite obvious, it simply times the amount of resource income by 2, without x2 or any mods it would be called a Classic Match. Nothing But Time means that Energy or Mass does not matter, you can build as many things as you want at a time and it will not matter, it will just keep on building... really fastly. Fixed Income is where your ACU (Armored Command Unit), generates a fixed income, your ACU is the only unit you start out with at the beginning, you build your land factories etc. with it in the beginning, and then build your engineers. Hunting Grounds is where you are allowed a group of special units I believe (because I've never used this mod, and never will,), and are only allowed those units (I shall update this when I can).
Other DLC (Yes, there's more explaining afterwards don't panic)
There is a little something known as FAF (Forged Alliance Forever), which is a launcher for Forged Alliance, but allows 6 vs 6 or 8 vs 8 battles, it allows other mods into the game, for example: Experimental Wars (which allows the veterancy of units, and better Experimentals), most people play on FAF than the usual game itself, but I for one continue to play on the normal Forged Alliance.
The Explanation of Units and Teching
There are three tiers of Tech: Tech 1, being the weakest of all, Tech 2, useful against long range enemies, now able to build Artillery and Shields, but not very useful against Tech 3 Units, Tech 3, being the strongest, is able to build Nuke Missiles, Heavy Shields, Quantum GateWays, Rapid Fire Artillery, and much more, including Experimentals! Tech 3 units may be the strongest, but once isolated and attacked by a 'horde' of Tech 1 Units, it may not seem as strong as you think, so use them wisely, and don't isolate them.
Experimentals are a vital source of offense in Supreme Commander, you may or may not build these early on in the game, it depends on how fast you are at getting to Tech 3 and maintaining a stable economy. Experimentals can either be Assault Bots to Walking Factories, to Battleships, to UFO's (known as a Czar), and some of these can even build units while on the move, and very quickly, can be very useful in a time of panic.
Buildings
I am not going to go ahead and tell you every little thing about every little building, I'm going to tell you about the important ones.
Mass Extractors / Tech 1, 2 and 3 are very VERY important, they keep your economy going. Quantum Gateways allows the building of the Support Command Unit, very efficient in building. Anti-Nuke Defense is self explanatory Power Generators / Tech 1, 2 and 3 generate power. Engineering Sations (only if UEF or Cybran) these little guys help you to build stuff very very quickly, be careful though, they have a range limit.
Is there a Sequel?
Yes, if you're wondering, there is a sequel to this, known as Supreme Commander 2, but it is by far worse than the original, your economy is increased tenfold (emphasis), in my opinion, it's just horrible.

SCREENSHOTS AND STUFF
Top left, is your economy: Mass and Power, If it begins to flash yellow, it means your mass / energy is dropping rapidly, don't ever let both the box and the text red, that is critical.
Top Right is the players and how much score they have, and he little bar below is all your idle engineers.
Bottom bar is all your productions that are happening with the current selected unit. The Upgrade to Tech 2 button is at the other end of this bar
when selecting a factory.

Very good game, I played it for about a year! But I played in the single missions, at the time when I did not have internet.
I'll have to download in the near future, to remember how to play

Nah bro, Aeon 4ever. Steam name?
I am not registered to Steam. I play in a single player in the games usually,
except TB. I'm talking about the fact, that why buy when you can download and do not spend your money. The last time I bought the game 10 years ago, lol. At Aeon I do not really like the super-units, such as Colossus and UFO, they are too weak.

Ahh ok, fair enough mate, Aeon is just better because you can spam t1 engineers and have them at one factory building the units really fastly, and Aeon has better units. The GC and the Czar are some of the best units in the game? Back on topic, hopefully some more people play this game than just you and I.

Got the first Supreme Commander free with my first computer, didn't realize that it was a game till about a month later. I got them both on steam. Supreme Commander 2 was pretty good aswell. Good ol' machine strategy warfare.
