To all you video makers
I was just wondering, what are the settings you use to render videos?
It appears that the settings I used to use to render my videos aren't compatible with Youtube anymore. They take way too long to upload now.
So, yeh.

I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 10 since it's the last build that works with Windows XP.
I've tried using mp4's but I'm still getting the same problem.

Youtube is pretty specific about what it likes these days.

container: mp4
video: h.264
-high profile
-30fps only, 60 isn't allowed at any resolution now
audio: aac-lc
-up to 512khz is supported

After that you just need to get the video bitrate under control. Vegas' presets tend to be either way too high or too low for the resolution. 3000kbps is generally ok for 720p videos, but 5000kbps will look better if you don't mind the larger file.
If you want 1080 then you should be looking at around 6000kbps, 8000kbps being better.

Keep in mind that old Vegas had a bad h.264 encoder (TBH the current ones aren't exactly great) so you may still run into problems.

Yea I have adobe premiere elements 7, and it has to be under 10 minutes to upload to YouTube, because it has to upload from the editor itself because YouTube for some reason doesn't accept the file format that premiere saves in :/
My signature was too long so I got this pretty rainbow here instead now. Isn't it nice? This is a nice rainbow.

Risk did this to me and I hate him forever, please join the official "Fuck Risk in the Ass With a Live Bat" social group to join me in hating Risk:

Ah, thanks Skul. Sucks how Youtube's changed it from how it was a while back.
I still prefer the older uploading settings there were. Looks like I'm changing a lot of settings :V

It's better this way, their video processing used to butcher uploads. At least now you know it'll be exactly the same as the one you upload.

Nice info, Skul.
