This game is so hit or miss it's insane.
I'd venture to say if you stay and play for more than like 3 months, you have like a 60% chance of leaving and coming back in cycles for years and years.
But if after the first week, you're too frustrated, you are OUT of here. NO shot at staying.
The learning curve is just insane. You go from flailing like a fish, to memorizing some basic stances like "contract one thing, extend it's other side" or "Lower shoulders to pull grabbed people in" to "I can do things" to "Once I thought of what I want to do, I just need a second to make it happen in here" just in weird strides.
I remember loving this game thinking my friends would continue playing with me like... my freshman year of high school? Maybe it was sophomore year. And my friend being a brown belt thinking it takes months to hit black belt. Was less than 2 months before I went from white belt to like 2nd dan, brown belt I already purchased a pure and dragon pack with the money I got for some bs reason. Not one of them stuck with it. Now they joke with me about it like "You still that silly little game? It's ridiculous"
What's really neat though, is that every generation is like a... clique. Like the 07's just... have a feeling for each other. Us 08's have some internal connection of feeling like "newfags", and there's just... cliques. I mean sure, you can have friends from all years, but it's just so funny how close the brotherhood is. I mean I feel like I've known people my entire lifetime from here.
