[Tex] Hobo-set W.I.P.
Well, to boost my photoshop skills and to boost my TC meter I gave a hobo set a shot. I don't have much at the moment, but would still like to show of the progress I'm making here.

So far, this is all I've got:

Head, version 1

As you see, I'm going for a cartoon set. I know this isn't much yet, but I would really like some CnC and idea's on how to finish this set, since I want this to be some high tier cartoon set. Well, at least for my standard of textures.

I will probably add eyes soon enough, but I don't have much time to do a lot of stuff right now because of finals, but stay tuned!
He needs to be as scruffy as possible! But to be honest I don't want to make one of those shitty cartoon sets where they just put random smileys and shit all over that tori.

I like the way you shaded in the space below his hairline, Though I would probably go for a little bit more Roughness in his beard
Have a great day, thanks for looking at this post I guess.
cnc is an endangered resource

Thank you, now that I look back, I indeed should make it more rough. I will include that in the next W.I.P. with the eyebrows and eyes.

That is.. fantastic to hear! I will keep you up-to-date.
i dont think that it not having eyes takes away from it too much, i like those kinds of textures though, so i may be a bit biased.
maybe some eye impressions, or a shadow create by his brow instead of actual eye balls. something different.
or otherwise i dunno, having the white of the eyes could maybe make the texture pop a little more.
either way, i dont think you could really go wrong, just dont overdo it.

i like the design overall, although the mouth could be lowered and stretched downwards a bit.

also dont think some subtle gradients would hurt.

Use the pen tool. Look up some tutorials on it, bound to be some on youtube.

Can't really say much for the early part of this stage, not much really going on, but I do like the design. Fix the mapping, and Ben, he hasn't finished yet, he said he is going to add eyes and eyebrows next W.I.P

Well, the technique I personally use is (I don't know if this is good, but it's good enough for me): Let's say we begin a new path with the pen tool. So let's say we want to make a curve. make a straight line, and click in the middle of the line to create a dot. Click and hold the dot and also the CTRL key (on windows) or CMD key (on mac) and move the dot. Make some adjustments till the curve is perfect, and continue with your shape! If the shape is done, (let's say for example, the hair on this texture) You have to close the shape by clicking your ending point. Wow, I am really bad at explaining, but I'm sure there are very good tutorials out there.
EDIT: if you have questions doodledoo, just PM me!

Also, thanks you guys

I think the nose will be the hardest part for me. Half of the textures I made don't even have a nose.
