I'm curious about the existence of a mascot for courtesy in other countries. Why do people even need one? Do people actually think of said mascot and feel the urge and drive to be courteous? My country has forgotten about such a thing and some people decided with such a campaign to revive it.

Courtesy is definitely something that needs to be an attitude of the entire society, not something promoted by a mascot.
