heyo college started again so im not working my self to death. just made some scribble scribbles trying to get some emotion into my heads.

kinda tried to make some hair. havent really did serious hair before. :S also an ingame of the front. for better proportions maybe..

face too small.

hmm ill look at the size of the face again. i was trying something a little different than i usually do for approaching face size.

Face is definetly small, and the second wip looks VERY odd. I dont know, perhaps it will turn out good, but as of now It looks like you could do better.

The head is turning out great but i think you should keep the mouth opened. Make the head look like a psycho ape thats screaming/shouting.

yea mostly just messing around and trying different things. and kinda trying to go fast-ish just to get back into making textures since i have more time. This one is just whatever pops into my head at the time, no real plan as im going forward (and maybe thats the problem.)

also mirroring most of it cause im being lazy.

I kinda tried that but also kinda failed. when you look at the side of the head it just looks silly. i think i would have to lift the face up to make it convincing. maybe ill try that at some point.

That head for some reason reminds me of Planet of the Apes. If the hair was messier then it would look almost exactly the same. I dont think that the WIP you just showed me is that bad. It still looks really nice. Also your attempt at making really nice hair worked out really well

Too generic. Face looks framed. Hair lacks depth (and looks really weird), this looks a lot like a Warcraft 3 texture. Please either fix the consequences of mirroring or just simply don't mirror anything.
