Rushes: Yes or No?
Do you like rushkickers in mushu/wushu? If so, why? I'm starting this because I'm not too fond of them and I want some other opinions
Boerhae, making a glorious return!
I don't think there's many people who like them, other than themselves.

The reason as to why "rush-kicks" or attacks in general exists, is because the move is effective, and give people a bigger chance of winning. Or, getting TC quicker in duels or the likes.

So personally, I don't like them. However, as they are used so often... Quite easy to predict, and has that opposite effect on skilled players, than what is desired by the user. So... I'd suggest you take the moves as a lesson, and learn from it. Even though it might be annoying.

Friendly advice: If you're duelling, make it a rule beforehand that rush moves aren't allowed, and screen it. If the opponent uses it, it would technically be a scam. So secure a fair fight ;)
Snap/rushkickers in wushu isn't a problem if you're good. If you play mushu, well, suit yourself <_<
I usually pull back before I kick/move forward. More of a personal preference than anything, but yeah.

Also unofficial rules like 'no shovel' or 'no snapkicks' are unsupported by the GM's, so even if you do report it you won't get refunded or anything of the likes. If you trust your opponent it's fine. Just a warning.

Like Fenris said, the only people who like rushkicks are the rushkickers themselves. I personally hate this mostly because it's pretty damn annoying when they get points at the very start of the match and then they start running away.

No rule against it so no reason to hate it, unless of course you have been owned by it too many times that you end up disliking it.

Why be against a viable tactics? Its like saying "none may hit the other for x frames" which is frankly quite absurd, its like having a boxing match and after the bell rings have the two boxers start a warmup before the fight, midst the clock is ticking.
Now doing recoloring for people not in the clan as-well, PM for more info!

Rushkickers aren't too hard to deal with. You just have to be willing to not over-commit in the first few frames. That is, don't do any opener or improv anything that leads you open to a rush attack in the first few frames. In wushu3 the engage distance is far enough to where you can just do a simple block like a clap to achive this. If the engage distance isn't that large (I think it is smaller in mushu) or if you just really want to play it safe then you should do an opener that makes you runaway on the first turn. Or improv a runaway move, doesn't really matter as long as you get distance.

Sometimes I'll throw in a rush starter if I think my opponent will leave themselves open to it. In my opinion any opener, improved or whatnot, is bad if can easily be beaten by a rush opener. There's no reason to leave yourself open in the first few frames when you know you can be hit in those very same frames.

But, this is all from a competitive, play for the win and only for the win standpoint. In general, you probably shouldn't do a runaway starter until you're very comfortable with your ability to comeback. What is "fun" is subjective. To me, rush openers aren't very "fun" they're more of a gamble if anything.

So much this.
I can understand disliking it if a rusher does it with newer people who don't know how to deal with it over and over again - because it's just boring for everyone involved - but generally speaking, there's nothing wrong with them

Yeah, I only don't like erthtkv2 because of the mod's name. Make it "tkv2," and the mod will instantly become more popular. This is a valid reason as the name of the mod is still an important feature that no one seems to have yet discussed.
I've got to agree on Goodbox's point, that it's something people should expect. Since Toribash is a competitive fighting game, and the main goal for the majority of players is to score a high rank or win something.

Now the boring thing is, they want to do this the easiest way possible (logical of course), which is... Dum, di dum.... RUSH MOVES AND/OR RUNNING AWAY!

It's super effective against new players, and totally ruins their mood and motivation. I've played wushu and lenshu since late 09 when I first started Toribash. And I know, it is daaaamn annoying. The reason as to why it is annoying is because...

~ It ruins the feeling of accomplishing something for new players. While the other player has increased chance of winning, and is having fun because he most likely will win. If the opponent is unexperienced or unsuspecting.
~ It totally ruins the replay.
~ For people trying to have a good time, and actually want to play fair, it's fairly annoying when that one guy (I.e. me123ster, for those who remember him) uses 1 single move, all the time to increase rank and earn tc.

There's nothing wrong with them of course, they're just simple. Egocentric.
Might be useless to discuss, since people have free will and making rules against it would be silly... But it's true.
