Clairvoyance comes from the French word clair meaning "clear" and voyant which means vision. Clairvoyance is the supposed skill of a human with the the ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses. Another name for a clairvoyant is a psychic, fortune teller or crystal-gazer.
