Grammys
Who watched the Grammys? Did any of your favorite musicians win an award? What was your favorite part?
I didn't watch the whole thing but when I checked the winners I was very content. I love Daft Punk, and they took home 4 awards. I love Random Access Memories. Gary Clarke Jr. also took home an award for best traditional r&b performance.
The best part of the whole show for me was Taylor Swift's reaction from losing to Daft Punk
. The most awkward moment of her carreer? Kanye West would probably say no.
My friend was about to eat me alive when I told her I was happy Daft Punk won
(She's crazy about Swift, even went to her concert).
Note: As this is an award show, I don't think it belongs in the music section.

It wasn't a matter of race. It was really more about the fact that Macklemore should not have swept the rap category with 3/4 taken. Most specifically, Kendrick Lamar got snubbed on Best Album. Sure, Macklemore had Thrift Shop and Same Love, but those are negligible when looking at Kendrick Lamar's GKMC with Swimming Pools, Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe, Poetic Justice, Money Trees, and Backseat Freestyle all being huge within the rap community. I can see how K. Dot got snubbed on that. It seems the Grammy's didn't know how to judge on what condones a best Rap Album. I don't think it should be mainstream commercial success(to which Kendrick had similar album-wise), but instead how big of an impact was had on the community of the genre.
It was disappointing to see the biggest new standout in the rap genre not win a single Grammy to say the least.
