I got a recent infraction but it already expired but how does the points affect you btw?

Points are there for the reason of knowing what you did at a certain period in time.
They also have the function of building up. For example, if you get infracted with something more than a warning multiple times, they can add up and you will result with an automatic 1 day to forever ban from the forum (and technically the game) by the system.
