Not working on my laptop

Hey guys i have a problem with toribash,i've recently hacked into my old laptop (Used Kon-Boot) because i forgot the password,and i decided to move all my files into it since it's better and faster than the other laptop i was using,i transfered toribash 4.62's files from the games folder to this one,and i tried to run it but there was nothing but a white screen(in a window) but i heard the sounds of deismemberment (The usual replays in main menu) and the cursor changed and when i click it it seemed like i pressed a button (the sound effects were played) it was like the game was playing but there wasn't any visual,i lost hope and downloaded the newer 4.8(?) version instead,it DID work,but all the text were either the first letter repeated (Ex. Freeplay turned into "FFFFFFFFF")
and the main menu had no text,instead,all the letters were replaced with an arrowhead (>) which was actually the first character in the words.
it was playable,when i played the a game the text seemed okay and nothing was wrong,but i had an unusual low fps,for a laptop that played other games quit well,it was really unusual,so i downloaded it again,installed it again,and nothing changed,still the same.
So what should i do now?should i redownload it?
note:This is not my laptop's problem,i plays other 3d games as well.

Uhh as iv'e already said,this is not my laptop's fault,version 4.8 is working and playable,the fps were around 20,i just cant seem to get rid of the Text bug in the main menu and other screens
