First booked match.
Alright, I kept this secret for a while, but I have been training MMA for the past 6 months, my trainer has me booked for my first cage fight on May 23rd. The only advice he gave me was:
"Do not show fear"
"Go in with the mind set of winning"
"Stand your ground, and try to avoid being on your back"
Now, I am trained in Judo and Brazilian jiu jitsu. I am 167 pounds, and 6 ft 3.
My opponent is a 4-2 Kickboxing/Judo MMA fighter, and he is 171 pounds and 6 ft 2, I have advantage over height and arm length, but he has me beat on pounds and experience.
I looked up on the internet on the first cage fights, and they say it's very hard.
If anyone on here has done MMA and been in MMA fights, can you give a rookie some tips on the first fight? What will I expect? What will I have to do? What will all happen within the first 10 seconds?
