[Tex] Red Dragon

---

So I made another dragon. This one started off relatively fast, but took longer than it should of because I accidentally saved over my texture so I had to restart from scratch. I feel like the neck could be a bit better. Not used to making such wide mouths, so dunno really what to do there at the moment. Also, will likely make one more dragon. It will likely be blue .

Made in Gimp with a Wacom Pen & Touch.

The mapping is off by a little bit and if you kinda squished the head a bit it'd look noice
Nothing wrong with it after that imo
really love the drawing work on the lower half of the texture, so crisp and well defined with great colours and highlights and stuff.
you're finding your style nicely.

top half looks a bit less defined and flat in comparison, but still maps quite well.

jaw could be stretched downwards a bit, with a more emphasised V shape

It looks a bit fat on the sphere, I agree that the chin should be moved downwards a bit.
The width of the mouth is perfect in my eyes, I only wished you didn't mirror the teeth.
Redraw those and remap the chin a little bit and you'll have a nice texture.

I'll try and keep an eye out for the face being to wide and chin being to high on the next one. Thanks for the advice.

Mirroring the teeth was a bit of an experiment. I wanted to see if I could get it to look right by mirroring the shapes but not the shading. I thought the end result looked alright, although I'm not surprised that you think it looks weird. Next time I might try mirroring the shapes, but adding varying aberrations to them (I say might because for what I have in mind I may have to make really clean teeth, in which case I wouldn't be able to add any aberrations).

Welcome me back maybe?
YES NO ONE REMEMBERS ME BUT MY FRIENDS
first time i see it it makes me scared X(
btw,it was awesome and look more great if it used with bumpmap texture
I usually do not have a problem with mirroring textures but simple variations can really lift your art to another level.
By adding asymmetrical items you will bring the texture to life. Maybe one of his horns broke off, simulating an epic battle.
Teeth are also never symmetrical, just look in the mirror.

I'm not saying this is bad, I'm just saying you can add a lot of life to this by doing simple variations.

On every symmetrical texture (mostly robotics) I do the last step will be adding asymmetrical items.
A logo, a broken wire, a scratch, dirt, additional armor and so on.
As an extra to making your texture look better, I think this is the most fun step to do.
I really enjoy freaking on my art after I'm "finished" with it.

Give it a try!
