Toribash: In a decline.
Have you looked at the servers lately?

Around 1 or 2 people average are in some of them, and the ones with people in them are either inaccessible to high-belts or just plain suck ("OMG LIEK CHAIR TABLE ZWEIHANDER INSTAGIB RAPE MOD LOL SO FUN")

And at that, the best gamemodes have been removed from the official servers.

Taek Kyon was hugely popular, for example.

Since 3.0, Toribash has been declining monstrously. I get the feeling the player base is just gonna slowly decline untill it dies.

To fix it, I propose the following.

Reversion of server style to 2.1ish. This means a couple servers for every gametype and only major, recognised clans get servers. (No. Recognised doesn't mean you have your own subforum in Official Clans. It means you've been here for 5+ months and meet other standards.) This also means custom servers removed (If you want your own server register a private one.)

And, an important bit, REMOVE belt servers for god's sake. Dans, God, custom belts can't join ANY decent servers WHATSOEVER.

I mean, really. You all (who've been here for a while) know that it was a thousand times better in old times. Servers overflowing with players, great gametypes.. Etc.

I'd hope a developer reads this. If not all, maybe they'll take a bit of the advice I've offered.

This has little clout, you can not only create your own server, and set it up how you wish, but also, there is a significant portion of the playerbase who enjoy mods.

I agree with this.

Come back when it does, so you can be right.

Until then, this is just speculation.

I'd like to be able to create my own server, thanks.

Once again, you can create your own server, with minumum belt restrictions. Also, I'd like to point out that you equate a high qi with skill, which is blatantly false.

If I had a time machine, I'd tell myself about toribash far earlier, but belittling those of us who weren't bored or lucky enough to find it out about it on our own is wrong.

There are several older members whom I respect, as well as some newer members. Your join date has nothing to do with your skill or intelligence.

I'm sure they will read it.

Good day, Noob_Reaper.
<~suomynona> TITS OR ELEELETH
Toribash was more fun around 3.0 - when there were about the right amount of servers, no qi restricted public servers, and a reasonable amount of clan servers.

The amount of people playing has grown, and so naturally the game has to adapt to accomodate them, but i'd say that forcibly splitting up the newer and more experienced players has had a negative effect. Most blackbelt level people who started to play after the protected "beginner" servers were brought in are woefully bad, since they play most of the time against other bad people.

User created servers haven't really changed the face of the game too much, since they just seem to have replaced all of the clan servers, which were recently being set the same kind of way, anyway (instagib face judo. etc. etc.). A few mods are one thing, but when most of the servers past the public ones are set to some sort of mod, then it gets a bit stupid.

Why nabi hasn't gone for the former setup, but on a bigger scale (say, two public betabox servers instead of one?), and removed all of the stupid "protections" for low belts, only they know. I still remember enjoying 10th dans coming into the "beginner classic" servers and showing off some skill sometimes.

-apologies for the typo's/inarticulate crap, but it's late. I'm sure the above is vaguely legible-

Good day, Noob_Reaper.

1: Nice job completely missing the point.

3: When did I say this was fact? But anyhow, yeah. It'll happen if things don't change.

4: Too bad. The quality of multiplayer is more important than your wants.

5: Um, what? That made no sense, nor did I say that.

6: Again, nice job making no sense and completely missing the point.

7: What does this have to do with my post?

Good day to you too.

Exactly my points.
