Gamekeepers - Gamekeepers are marked with a grey name and are in-game moderators, that is to say they have full in-game administrator abilities(~). Gamekeepers are in-game police when not doing their real job and can be expected to help members with in-game disputes and help. The following is directly from the Gamekeepers Board:

Goals:
Pretty much everything to do with making people want to come back in every day. You make events, sponsor fresh meat in their own events, and generally get the community psyched and pumped for what's coming in the future. That's what we are about.

Every once in a while, I'll try and run past you guys some upcoming stuff for Toribash, so you can get a heads up, and eventually prep the community for it.


Responsibilities:
- Collectively, we will release at least one large event monthly
- Add ideas and concepts that you will think will make the community and our job's easier and better
- Making in game tournaments using the betting system or knockout or event bigger TC servers. Set up bounties and prizes.
- Every member needs to make a log post in the Gamekeeper log thread and update it every three (3) days.

Examples of the logs that Gamekeepers need to keep:

GK tournaments: 3/2 - Dodekus won 6k, lampshade won 3k
Events: 2/15-2/25 - <link to event thread> / Nuthug won 25k, Rutz won 15k, Nirs won 10k.


Toriagents - Toriagents are identified by their Orange names and in-game % symbol. The % symbol means that Toriagents have half-op which allows them to ban, kick, mute, and deop people. Toriagents are expected to 'sit' in Beginners, Intermediate and Semi-Pro servers and help out new players with any questions they may ask and with any help they may need. The Toriagent's job is to make sure that new players are having a good time playing the game and that they don't get too confused or lost during their discovery of the game. The Gamekeepers job is to make sure these people stay for as long as possible, but without the Toriagents welcome and support of new players there would be nobody to participate in the Events set by Gamekeepers. Both roles are different and both are equally important. Popular misconceptions about Toriagents are that they are of a lower standard or quality in comparison to that of a Gamekeeper, which is dead wrong. As previously stated, both are different and are equally important. If you decide to apply for a position as a Gamekeeper simply because you get a ~ then you are going into it for all the wrong reasons.

This thread will be used to watch the activity of the new Tori-Agents. Simple concept - post a reservation for a timecard. Every time you go ingame, edit that post saying you've started your server-sitting. When you're done, edit the post to show when you finished for that evening. Should look something like this.

Murmayder: What do you believe an Administrator and/or Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as an Administrator?
suomynona: By far the most important trait is common sense, followed by a good intelligence. By the time someone reaches admin, they should know whether or not something would work, be feasible, be practical, or be approved by me. Albeit that last one is subject to debate.

Murmayder: How does one attain the skills that may be needed when moderating the forums?
suomynona: Common sense, when I look at some of the things that support gets, appears to be difficult to acquire. It tends to be a case of just sitting back and thinking about it. Intelligence can usually be acquired by asking a question now and then about what or how something works. Which, while I expect people to know how the forums work on a superficial level, I doubt many of the smods have the same knowledge of how it works in the inside as me or the other ninjas.

Murmayder: What do you mean by knowledge of how it works on the inside?
suomynona: Just for an example, banning involves using an automated tool which modifies the user's usergroup to one with very few permissions. The main thing you have to know is that you can't just change a person's usergroup to a banned group by itself and expect it to work right.

Murmayder: Is this something an SMod would be expected or benefited from knowing or is it for more Administration and Ninjas?
suomynona: An smod has to use the banning tool, so it's just a case of something admins and ninjas need to know. But at the same time, knowing the limitations of the forum is nice before you come asking me to do something patently impossible.

Murmayder: Are you asked many things by SMods that aren't possible?
suomynona: Yeah. We already had to break one coding standard. The VIP post background was an example of one that STILL doesn't work quite perfectly on all browsers.

Murmayder: So, your job is helped by Support threads and by observations and suggestions from the staff in general?
suomynona: Well, that requires classifying what my job actually is. I mostly act as an intermediary between the lower and upper administration; id est community and developers. As for support threads, I mostly avoid them. No really interesting problems going on in Support at present.

Murmayder: Has the recent loss of 2 ninjas, leaving you 'the last of your kind', as it were, put much strain on your job?
suomynona: Not really. The administration is an organic creature, cut off one or two limbs and it'll just adapt and grow a few more.

Murmayder: What do you believe an Administrator and/or Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as an Administrator?
Eleeleth: Well, hmm. Self-control is the biggest thing, I have this nice little button that says "Ban User" and have to remind myself that it isn't applicable in all situations. A decent knowledge of the rules, and the ability to admit mistakes when you realize you don't know the rules as well as you thought you did. As far as my specific job, I've taken KiTFoX's place as the head of the Tori-Agents, and mainly use my administrator-specific powers to handle additions and removals from that usergroup.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an application for both SMod and Toriagents?
Eleeleth: Well, going over the mass of Tori-Agent applications I was looking for signs of effort being put into the application. This is a rather subjective thing, obviously, but basically boils down to being able to speak clearly. Grammar is more important than spelling, but not so much as to say spelling is unimportant. Typically I'll review a user's post history when they apply for anything, just to get an idea of how they act when not applying for something. You probably wouldn't be suprised at the disparity I find a lot of the time.

Murmayder: What skills and attributes do you feel an Toriagent needs to fulfill their job and how do you find out whether applicants have these traits?
Eleeleth: Patience is the biggest thing, as a Tori-Agent you'd deal with newbies to the game all the time, and being able to patiently answer the same questions over and over and over again is a big factor in whether you're successful at your job. Other than that, I like to see intelligence and persistence. Finding out if an applicant has these traits is rather simple, talking to them for a few moments is usually enough to deduce, or just lurking in servers with them.

Murmayder: Is there anything else that you would like to say to a member thinking of applying for Toriagent?

Murmayder:
What do you believe an Administrator and/or Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as an Administrator?
hanz0: First and foremost, I think that any staff position requires the ability to be objective when it's necessary. Staff need to be able to make decisions based solely on the rules and what is logical, not on their emotions, friendship, etc. Obviously, there's also the need to possess a certain level of intelligence, be able to interact with people effectively, etc. As far as what I do, it's a bit multilayered. In addition to general moderation and management of smods/localmods, my main area of focus is in the Marketplace. That involves management of the MSquad, Marketeers, and the scam reports (Plus moderation of the Market board itself, obviously.) I've also helped with community development stuff, e.g. monthly promos back when we had them, etc.

Murmayder:
What do you look for in an application for both SMod and Market Squad applicants?
hanz0: Personally I look for evidence that the applicant has those traits that I mentioned earlier. Obviously it's a bit hard to judge objectivity based on an application alone, but you can definitely judge their ability to communicate, etc. We had some complaints recently about more well-known users getting chosen over people who "hadn't gotten a chance" before. And I won't deny that we tend to favor better-established players - simply for the reason that we have an already-existing basis off of which to judge them. Whereas a new user who pops in and submits an application right off the bat isn't likely to do well because he hasn't taken the time to establish himself as someone who is qualified.

Murmayder:
What skills and attributes do you feel a Market Squad member needs to fulfill their job and how do you find out whether applicants have these traits?
hanz0: Generally they need to be pretty efficient, have a very good grasp of the Market rules (so they're not sitting around looking up if something is allowed every time they get a report), work well within the team, and be able to get things done when I need them to be done. When we accept an application, they're not immediately put on full MSquad, with infraction abilities and all. Everyone goes through a 'trial' period, wherein they just have basic localmod abilities. This forces them to work with full squad members to get infractions in, etc. And during this time, the rest of the squad keeps an eye on them to evaluate how they're doing as far as knowledge of the rules, efficiency, etc. As far as the last one, I'll occasionally run Infraction Races in IRC to keep them on their toes. :P

Murmayder: Infraction Races?
hanz0: All of them (well, hopefully) have set up their IRC clients such that a specific phrase will highlight them. That way I can get the attention of every MSquad member that's online, link them to a post that needs to be taken care of, and see who wins.

hanz0: For one, expect to be yelled at a lot. Also, to people just applying to get a leg up to a higher staff level: Don't. We're pretty good at telling when someone's just power-hungry

Murmayder: What do you believe an Administrator and/or Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as an Administrator?
SlipAnc: My personal opinion about moderating a forum is that anyone who does it needs to know how the human mind works. You need to socialize, find out what people want and give them exactly that. If you cant do that then you're not qualified as a moderator or administrator no matter how high skills you have in for example programming. That's basically because a communities heart is the community itself, not the program they use. About me, I pretty much do everything. I know that sounds a bit awkward but that's a fact. The other fact is that nobody realizes I do so, but that's the curse of this job. If you ask SkulFuk, he will tell you the same thing, we partol on the forum 16-20 hours a day, do the smod's stuff (infract/ban) do admin stuff (handle hack cases, reports, refunds) and manage our teams.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an application for SMods?
SlipAnc: Mostly maturity and common sense. Doing an Smod's job is extra easy, all you need to do is be active.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an application for Gamekeepers?
SlipAnc: When I look at a GK application first of all I check if it has the main form to see if the person who wrote knows how to write an application. Then I check his willingness to get the job done. GKs have a lot to do so I want the only ones who actually want to do this job to come in my team, if they want it just for the power then they will eventually get fired or get filtered in the first place. Of course a little reputation doesnt hurt, since I judge people who I never met or dont know, that's why I suggest getting a positive reputation first then a great application and a strong will to get the job done. That will bring anyone to the Gamekeeper team.

Murmayder: What skills and attributes do you feel a Gamekeeper needs to fulfill their job and how do you find out whether applicants have these traits?
SlipAnc: First of all he needs to English. When I'm about to take in new members, I invite them in our private IRC channel, talk to them, let them speak. Then we observe them in game, on tourneys, while hosting, to see if their attitide matches the requirements. Though it sounds complicated, this is mostly common sense aswell, you don't need to be a genious to host a tourney, all you need to do is to sit down and do it. Anyone who's willing to do that can become a gamekeeper.

Murmayder: Is there anything else that you would like to say to a member thinking of applying for SMod?
SlipAnc: Just one thing. If you get in by the normal procedures then you'll be respected and liked. If you get the title by manipulation then everyone will hate you. Better chose the clean path.

Murmayder: Is there anything else that you would like to say to a member thinking of applying for Gamekeeper?
SlipAnc: Dont let a minor barrier like geing in the gamekeeper usergroup stop your dreams. If you want to host then host. You'll eventually learn that being a gamekeeper is not just about keeping the fun int he community, it's about having fun too. Dont give up.

Murmayder: What do you believe a Super Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Super Moderator?
avwave: Smods need a REALLY high tolerance for idiots/annoying people and the occasional newbie (most of them are pretty easy to deal with), also a certain calm in situations. The worst quality you can have is a hairtrigger, being an smod is basically handling the forum (sometimes game) so that everything runs smoothly. SMods are basically daycare nannies.

Murmayder: What is an SMod expected to do specifically?
avwave: Handle forum reports (a lot of them) and take care of player behavior, so the overly disruptive players are taken out, also, we handle some game reports such as scams and raunchy game behavior (farmers, flamers, and such). If its not doable by our access rights, admins handle them.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an SMod application?
avwave: More than one sentence. Also, a degree of respect. Nothing peeves me more than reading "you should hire me because I'm perfect for the job". You cant be beggy either, thats almost as bad. Also, state your credentials and if possible previous forum experience.

Murmayder: If somebody does apply will it be posted or is it strictly invite only?
avwave: If i had my way it would be invite only, although we do miss out on some prospective applicants.

Murmayder: Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a Super Moderator position?
avwave: Don't keep your hopes up :] being smod isn't a glamorous job. More often than not, you are hated more than admired. Also, pay sucks

phail: I believe that a super moderator needs to possess a fair amount of skill in moderating as well as the ability to control themself when dealing with a frustrating situation (which they are a fair share of) In order to work well with other super moderators, one should be able to maintain a standard of behaviour and act responsibly when the situation requires it. That's not to say that you can't be a fun guy, but there's a time and a place. for everything. (Something the staff has learnt all too well in recent times.)

Murmayder: What do you do as a Super Moderator?
phail: As a super moderator my job is generally just infracting posts that have been reported. I sometimes deal with scams and ongoing cases but I tend to stick with one off jobs such as infractions, banning for texture theft, negotiating/intimidating, among others.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an application?
phail: When looking at an application, there are a multitude of factors that I consider before making up my mind, such factors include:
1) Length of the application. I know this sounds a bit stupid, but one thing that really tells you a lot about the applicant is whether or not they are willing to invest the effort into creating an application that's more than a couple of paragraphs. If they can't be bothered to write that, how could we trust them to remain active month after month in their job?
2) Grammar, spelling and punctuation. Though there are exceptions to this and it probably sounds a little snobby, acting professionally is a big part of being on staff. I for one can't really take someone seriously when they abbreviate everything or don't type in a clear, concise manner. Especially in a formal application.
3) The content. Interesting to link this with my fourth point, what lengths people will go to to prove a point is interesting. There are of course, things that we don't know that play a major part in our decisions.
4) Past History. Extremely important. Past history is probably the thing I look at the most, there are times when we can just forgive and forget but that is not very often when selecting a staff member. Infraction history, positions of leadership and general community conduct are all very important.

Murmayder: Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a Super Moderator position?
phail: When applying for Super Moderator, you should make sure that you have the experience under your belt and that you can see yourself a super moderator, working with the team. I can't stress this enough. People who apply for supermoderator when they aren't ready actually often decrease their chances of being picked the next time(s) they apply. This is when applications become annoying enough to not even be worth posting. So yeah, just think it through, put as much effort in as you can and give it your all.

ravenger: A background in the Market is extremely recomended, but not needed. An understanding of the rules. It's also good to be known in the community, sort of like SMod, just a little more specalized to the Market. On a normal day, I get around 6 pms. About half of them are Marketeers, and the other are about scams. While I can't do anything directly, I find out what happened, etc. So when someone that can fix it (hanz0!) gets on I can just tell him the facts and make his job easier. Apart from that, I browse the Market board bi-hourly and hunt down rule breakers.

Murmayder: is there anything else you'd like to add for the members to read about?
ravenger: Don't post saying someone broke a rule, just report it. Annoying as shit :|

Lebo: To be able to do the job of a market squad member, one needs to possess a strong knowledge of the market and its rules. By knowledge of the market, I mean more of a long term knowledge. That doesnt even necessarily mean playing the market, but just observing it and when it comes to the rules, thats just plain simple is it not? As an MSquad member, generally speaking, ordinary members are there to keep the market in order while members with more power, primarily hanz0 take care of involved scams that require more time and researching. So in terms of the ordinary members, we tend to educate first, then warn, then infract members when it comes to breaking rules such as illegal bumps, and useless posts.

Murmayder: What do you look for in an application?
Lebo: In an application. This is based on the recent applications, I look initially at who is applying. Although this may seem like a popularity contest, it actually isn't because I base my decision based off not only their application, but also what I have seen of them on the market. We accept mature, responsable, respectable people to our group. Once I know who is applying I check over their application to see that they have a good knowledge of the market. I also like to see that they have seriously considered their application and not just half assed it and finally it is a great bonus if they provide a creative idea they have for the market, because it shows us their commitment in a certain way.

Tempo: Yes. Keep in mind that it's a time consuming job and it's not always fun. Don't think of it as just having fun. Behave and do what you're told. And of course, get some insight into how it's like hosting a tourney or an event so you know what the job's about

steve: To start it off, a genuine interest in Toribash as a game, rather then a misguided attempt to move up in the forum hierarchy. Now alot of people have this genuine interest, which is understandable considering the fact that so many people continue to play and enjoy Toribash. We narrow it down by finding the people that can offer us creative and intelligent ways to keep people playing. You need to know what people want ingame. If you think that people just want knockout tournies, you are sorely mistaken :v. The game and community is ever evolving and expanding, people want new things all the time. If you fail to satiate that desire for new things, people lose interest, which of course leads to a decrease in people playing, which is the opposite of what we want. The last thing a gamekeeper needs or should have, I might say if you think you fulfill the first two criterias then ask yourself this "How often are you ingame just playing?". If it is less then a couple hours a week you shouldn't apply :v

Murmayder: What do you do in your job as a Gamekeeper?
steve: A Gamekeepers daily itinerary might include: host a tourney or two (keep it original and invent a new kind of ingame tourney rather then standard boring knockout). I came up with a few good ones in my heyday. Then you might browse the ultra secret private Gamekeeper forum :O. You'll see that other Gamekeepers are posting propositions for new ingame or forum events, might throw down a comment or criticism on a few of those, I'm speaking purely from a gamekeeper members POV. The majority of the stuff I did was lead stuff, want me to include that?

steve: aight, so I might decide that I have a great idea for an event myself or a monthly theme. So I might draft up a prop myself and submit it for criticism.

Murmayder: What do you look for in a Gamekeeper application?
steve: The people who think that they post alot in wibbles. Well obviously ingame activity, a recognizable name, a genuine interest when approached secretly :o. Stuff like that.

Murmayder: Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a GK position?
steve: Basically, wise up, don't be an idiot and think that we overlook things. You know if you are good for it:V


Toriagents:

Murmayder: What do you believe a Toriagent needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Toriagent?
Doxxy:Well, a proper ToriAgent should have a good knowledge of Toribash along with a sense of responsibility and common sense. They also need patience which is important in a TA.
Doxxy:And to what I do in my job? I try to keep a strong attitude, and stay alert. I also have quite a lot of patience. I do everything a Toriagent is supposed to do.

Murmayder: What does one do as a Toriagent?
Doxxy: We ToriAgents have a important part in my opinion. We keep Toribash growing and making it easier for the Super Moderators and Admins. How? Well we teach some essential tools for the beginners to use so they don't run rampant and cause or get into trouble, though it doesn't seem like much, we impact the community in a big unnoticed way. As to how we do this, we sit in the beginner servers and help them with the game along with answering their questions and what not. We also patrol for farmers and rule breakers as we are in-game police.

Murmayder: what do you look for in Toriagent applications?
Doxxy: I look for honesty mainly. I look for people who say what they really are and not try to say more then wait they can really do. We get a lot of applications that say things like " Hello i want to be a ToriAgent because i think i'd be great for the job and i help beginners all the time... " Things like that really aren't attractive. It also helps to be some what known in the community. You don't have to be famous or anything. But having a good rep (not the reputation system) means something as well. But being straight forward on why you wish to be a ToriAgent is always the best way to go.

Murmayder: Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a TA position?
Doxxy: Yes. If you want to become a ToriAgent. I suggest waiting until your a bit more well known. And when you make your app. Try to use a correct format, keep it clean, use good grammar, and most importantly just be yourself. The fastest way to go any further in Toribash is to simply be yourself. Eventually you will start to notice people noticing you. That's the best time to apply. Also, don't flood poor Eleeleth with applications

Murmayder: What do you believe a Toriagent needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Toriagent?
destiny: Tori-Agents need to be good with people. They must be able to control their temper, in order to not rage at the really stupid people . In my job as a Tori-Agent I mostly sit in servers and talk to players.

Murmayder: What does one do as a Toriagent?
destiny: I help them if they need help and try to motivate them to keep playing Toribash. To accomplish this, we/I give out small prizes in TC or items for things we make the new players do. E.g. "The next decap wins 300TC" and the like. Our job is to help the beginners mostly.

Murmayder: what do you look for in Toriagent applications?
destiny: Now that's difficult. I mostly look at if I know him/her first, because well known people are more respected mostly. After that I think of any examples of his/her work that I know of. To see if they'd be good for the job.

Murmayder: Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a TA position?
Yeah, don't be overly self-conscious. Even though it may seem like a rather easy job it's nothing to be looked down upon. TA's are just as important as the other staff usergroups and they are as carefully picked as any other staff position.

What do you believe a Toriagent needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Toriagent?
Zinx: Ok, a Tori-Agent does not need much power to do their job properly, Although when sitting in beginner servers op (%) is always helpful to help keep the servers clean of spam flamming etc. As a Tori-Agent we try to keep newcommers playing and intrested in both forum and in-game

what do you look for in Toriagent applications?
Zinx: Well, Whenever Eleeth needs help or posts applications for our disscussion, me as a Tori-Agent, I look for experience, Intelligence friendliness (Very important) and Activity ofcourse. And knowledge of toribash and how it runs

Murmayder:
Is there anything else you would like to say to those members who are thinking about applying for a TA position?
Zinx: The application is the very foundation of becoming a tori-agent, Silly applications we mock, and great well grammared Applications we praise and probally accept. Remember that Eleeleth reads through many daily, and short and sweet is the way to go.

Local Moderators:

Trials

Murmayder: What do you believe a Local Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Local Moderator?
Trials: They need to be trustable (ie, not gonna go around editing posts at random), fairly active, how active differs depending on how active the board is, be able to do there job well and be helpful. As a support mod I have to close threads, add symbols to the thread titles saying about how it's going and delete useless posts.

Murmayder: What is a Local Moderator expected to do?
Trials: They have to be able to do their job and enforce the rules of the forum and their subforum fairly often, depending on how many other local mods there are.

Murmayder: If you had to advise someone on what to have in their application, what would you say?
Trials: They should make it as imformative as they can, saying if they've mod'ed anywhere else, even their own clan forums. They should also give a breif discription of how active they are and what they've already done to try and help the forum and subforum they want to become mod for.

Murmayder: Anything else you would like to say to anybody thinking about applying for a Local Moderator position?
Trials: Don't apply just because you want the power, apply because you want to help the forum grow and prosper.

Voxus

Murmayder: What do you believe a Local Moderator needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as a Local Moderator?
Voxus: Hurmm, well first what you need:
-Mainly the ability to stand back and look at a situation, then make the correct choice, and be able to defend it. Really all you need is some comon sense and rationality (It also helps to be friends with the admins and devs)
-To make such choices, it's also nessessary to have some humility as a local mod, your decisions are all under review.
Voxus: As for what I do? I delete the rubbish out of support (or move it to hall of shame) while trying to help with related questions.
Voxus: When kind of rubbish you might ask? Well, every now and then (about four times a week) we get a guy who believes all his problems, are everyone elses problems, and worse than that, he'll blame you if the solution isn't what he expected. Normaly he is also illiterate, which is a pain.

Murmayder: What is a Local Moderator expected to do?
Voxus: Well, normaly the expecations are simple, carry through the boards rules, and don't break the rules, nothing has occourd in support in a long time that hasn't allready been writen about. Incidently I added an easter egg into supports rules, which only ten or some people have commented on. I believe that says something about the number of people who read the rules.

Murmayder: If you had to advise someone on what to have in their application, what would you say?
Voxus: Introduce your self, be to the point, check for anything that no one will care about. We want you to have read every sticky thread (as a minimum), and have been on IRC and the forums for quite some time, helping people, before we will even read your application. Really all the magic happens behind the scenes, by chating with the admins and current mods. Just for the love of all that you hold dear, don't be vain.

Murmayder: Anything else you would like to say to anybody thinking about applying for a Local Moderator position?
Voxus: A support moderator is normaly percieved to be correct among a group of answers, so make sure you know what you are tlaking about, or don't talk.
Voxus: Oh and #support is the best channel on IRC.

Item forgers:

Solax

Hero: What do you believe an item forger needs to possess in order to do their job properly and what do you do in your job as an item forger?
Solax: Item forgers need to be very open minded and very self critical. It is important to the job to be able see the potential in items but also the flaws and then find ways of working around that. With access to an, essentially, limitless supply of items I could jokingly say that self control is also required. As for what I do: I present and discuss ideas as well as also writing things for the group such as item descriptions and other exciting things.

Hero: What is the process you follow for bringing us new and exciting items?
Solax: The process is fairly simple. Someone is given or thinks up an idea and then makes a thread. The idea is discussed and tweaked. Then the item is created. At this stage the item gets tested and if it all looks good then the necessary art and other promotional stuff is made. It all gets put together and the shipped out to the shop.

Hero: How does on become an item forger and what are the prerequisites of joining - if any?
Solax: To become an Item Forger there aren't really any prerequisites. You have to be known to be trustworthy and also have the attributes that I mentioned above. If you have a history in making creative events, replays, mods art...anything really then that's a plus. Really though, if anyone has an idea for an item then they can feel free to send it on to us and we'll post it up and look into it. Of course credits will be supplied if a user's idea becomes an item.

Hero: How do you feel working as a team?
Solax: Working with the group is really good. We're all quite close and are constantly discussing and critiquing. Yoyo's a beast coder, Jusmi has made some of the greatest art I have seen and hampa's just an all round awesome dude. Then there's Firebolty and me who are just bros. It's super awesome to be able to work so closely with these talented guys to create exciting new items in a game so extensively dedicated to customization.

How to post images, replays and youtube videos on forums
This will be a step by step tutorial showing you how to post images, replays and youtube videos on the forums. This may sound simple but recently we've been getting alot of support issues on this, so I decided to make a FAQ on it.
There was a FAQ on this, but this is a slightly updated version, covering the Youtube videos section.

Youtube Videos
Have you ever wanted to share you youtube video on the forums but could not get a preview and had to post the link? Well, it's very simple on how you do it. You need;

Youtube tags code:

1.)In between the youtube tags, you need to place your youtube link. But note that if you place the whole link, it won't work. You only have to place the last bit.

For example:
If we were to post this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rulyBM_R22o
We only need the last bit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rulyBM_R22o


So, this is how it basically comes out.




Images
Now, we all now how to attach image files, but they don't really look large and attractive do they? You're looking for image displays like they do in clan pages right? Well, it's quite simple actually. Use an image hosting website such as www.imgur.com to upload the desired image.

1.) Go to www.imgur.com (you can use similar image hosting site).

2.) Drag your image (one you want to upload, multiple possible) and click on upload. On uploading you should see something similar to this:


3.) Now, you will want to copy the link entitled, BBCode (message boards & forums)

4.) Paste it, in our case it will be:

Simple, right?

Replays
Lastly, I'll be covering the replays part. If you've made a good replay and would love to share it with you friends on the forums, you simple have to upload it.

1.) Firstly, you will need to click "Go Advanced" below the quick reply option. You will see the Attachment options if you scroll down a bit.



2.) It's very simple from now onward. Click on "Manage Attachments" and you'll see a row of upload options like this:



4.) Now, Click on choose file.
Replay Directory code:

5.) Click on "upload".
And after the .rpl file has been uploaded, you can click "Close this window" to see your file attached to the post itself. Click on post thread and you're done!

How to Transfer TC from account to account.

1.) Click on 'Shop' located on website's navigation bar.


2.) Click on 'Transfer Toricredits' located on the left panel.


3.) You will be redirected to the following page. Enter the amount of TC you want to send, and the person you want to send it to.


Do not enter anything other than numbers in the TC textbox. For example, to send 4000 TC type "4000"(without any comma) in the box, entering "4,000" will only send 4 toricredits. The same applies to "4.000" and "4k"

How to Transfer items from account to account.
In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to transfer items from one account to another account.

1.) Click on "Shop" located on the navigation bar of the website.


2.) Click on "transfer items" located on the left navigation panel.


3.) It will redirect you to the following page. Follow the instructions and make your transfer.


IMPORTANT: The items you want to send must be in your Deactivated inventory. Market items or items in Activated inventory can not be transferred.

Safetrade

What is Safetrade?
Safetrade is a simple system that allows you to trade items with other players and a scam-proof way to deal items.

Why should you use safetrade?
Using Safetrade prevents you from possible scams. This is because both users must agree to the trade (including tc, if used) before it is finished. It works by sending a request for the items/TC you wish to trade to a recipient, and letting them add what they would trade back for, allowing for both users to then accept or reject the trade before it is made.

How should you use safetrade?
A) Go to the Torishop and select "Safetrade" under "Account"
B) You will now see the safetrade page, you should:
......I) Add the user-name of the recipient (make sure to double check this)
......II) Add a message to send to the recipient (telling them to add the item/tc you desire).
......III) Select any Items you wish to trade.
......IV) Enter the amount of TC you wish to send.
C) Click "Start Safetrade"
D) Wait for a reply, you can manage your safetrades from the Torishop, and you will be notified via PM when the recipient has responded to your trade.

Note that once a safetrade has been started, the item will be sent to an intermediary bot, that will hold the items until the safetrade is completed or canceled.

How to upload your own Head Texture
This is a step by step tutorial which will guide your on how to upload your own head texture.

Head Texture
To upload your own head texture, you will need the head texture item itself which is available for purchase here. Once you have bought the item, it should be available in your deactivated inventory.

Uploading your desired Head Texture
Now that you have the item, you will need an art. You could request for one at the Art & Texture board.

Click on edit and let's start the process.


After clicking on edit, you should see this box.


Click on choose file and it should let your choose a file from your computer.
In my case, I'll be using my own head texture art.



Once you have selected it, it should show the selected file name.



Click on upload and wait a bit, and now you can go in-game and enjoy your own custom head texture!

How to activate/deactivate items from your inventory
Whenever you buy items from the market, or receive items from other users, they appear in your deactivated inventory. If you wish to use them in-game, you'll have to activate them first. Here's a simple guide to activating/deactivating items.

1.) Go to "Shop"



2.) Click on to "Deactivated Inventory"


3.) Here, click the little "Activate" option next to the item you wish to activate. The item will then appear in your activated inventory, and you'll be able to see it in-game.


4.) In case you want to deactivate an items, go to "Activated Inventory"


[color=#421245][B]5.) Now click the little "Deactivate" option next to the item you want to deactivate.



The item will be deactivated and you will no longer see it in-game.

How to add/remove items from your market

Adding Your Item
1.) Click on "Shop" located on the navigation bar of the website.


2.) Go to"Activated Inventory" or "Deactivated Inventory"


3.) Here, click either on the edit option or the little icon next to the item you want to put on market.


4.) You will be taken a page similar to this (depending on the item).


Removing Your Item
1.) First you will want to see the market items you already have. Click "Market Items"


2.) Now you can remove your items and change the price at will.


IMPORTANT: While setting the item's price, do not enter anything other than numbers in the textbox. For example, to set the item's price as 4000 TC type "4000"(without any comma) in the box, entering "4,000" will set it's market price as 4 toricredits. The same applies to "4.000" and "4k"

How to upload your own kiai sound

This is a step by step tutorial, guiding how you can upload a kiai sound.

Kiai Sound
A kiai sound is a 5 second playback of your chosen music at the beginning of every round you play in-game multiplayer.To upload a kiai sound you must have the kiai sound 'item' itself, which is available for purchase here. Once you have bought the item, you should have it in your deactivated inventory.

Uploading your sound
If your kiai sound file is longer than 5 seconds in duration, it will not work.
Click on edit and now you should see an option to choose your file. For this tutorial I will be using a .wav file.


Now you'll see this:

You want to upload your own file. Click on choose file and it will open a browser option. I'll be uploading this;


Click 'select' or 'okay' whatever your browser tells you. Now, you should see your file selected. Simply click upload.



And there you have it, now go in-game and hear your voice echo, weakening your opponent!

The User Control Panel
The user control panel is used to change your own preferences and options. Such as the avatar, signature, usertitle (VIPREQ.). It can also be used to check for updates and answer private messages you have received.

What is Toriprime & VIP

Toriprime & VIP is a service available for purchase here.

Toriprime costs $10 for 1 year, and VIP costs $7 for 6 months, however you can only buy VIP when you have Toriprime.

Toriprime Privileges

• The Power to have up to 4 lines in your signature.
• The Power to interact with a secret Toriprime board.
• The Power to use the search function.
• The Power to upload bigger avatars (up to 125x125 pixels).
• The Power to have a picture in your signature (up to 400x100 pixels).

VIP Privileges

• The Power to upload even larger avatars (up to 150x150 pixels).
• The Power to upload animated avatars.
• The Power to add a special character before your name (I.E. $Cake, &Cake etc.)
• The Power to have up to 6 lines in your signature.
• The Power to have a much larger picture in your signature (up to 650x150 pixels).
• The Power to upload animated signature images.
• The Power to have a background image in your posts.
• The Power to take 50 percent off on broadcasting in-game. (i.e. 10,000TC normal price, 5,000TC for Vips.)
• The Power to access the VIP board. (Another secret sub-forum)
• The Power to have the VIP achievement.

Take note that these are PRIVILEGES. Once you abuse it, we WILL take action.

It may seem unfair to some users that we charge for these things, but its both to raise funds for running the servers, and to cut back on bandwidth usage.
