This might be stupid but how do people make profit off of forgd flames when they sell it for so much less then they forged it for?

If you've forged the flame, you don't make profit, unless it's really unique and people pay more than the forge price. If you buy the flames off of people and sell them for more, you make profit.

Then why do people forge em? For fun?

Possibly for fun.
Other times because the flame they want isn't available on the market anywhere. Or maybe it is but isn't exactly how they'd like it.
