Texture Making
Im not sure if this is the best place to put this, but whatever.
To all the other people who have experience making toribash head textures - I would appreciate some guidance.

A head texture I have been working on recently keeps getting messed up around the top of the head.

Clearly the Art is supposed to be some kind of mottled fishman, but near the top the dots get screwy. I have tried big dots, small dots, wide dots, and tall dots, and I am not so sure what to do now. Anyone with experience in this, please, bestow upon me your wisdom!
It's normal. To transform the flat image into a sphere, all the top and bottom border have to be merged in one point. This causes the distortion.
To avoid it you can make the top part with less details, in this case you could decrease the quantity of dots in near the top border, or decrease their contrast with the skin.
My advice would be to mark a few dots on top in red, and see which dots get distorted. That way you can see what dots you need to edit so the distortion becomes less obvious.

You could always get rid of the dots up there as well. It is the top of your head after all. :L
