All I can say is that you need keep practicing.

The red "x" and the text are awful! Use a font ffs.

It would also be nice if it had some transparency around the edges to give it less of a square feel.

The background is most likely the best thing on there.

Use gimp better next time. There are a lot of things you can do with it.

Yeah, It's pretty low-grade as far as photoshop goes.

Well, I like to make regular shapes and then filter them, making something I'd never be able to make on my own.

Kiwi, why would one really use fonts in a logo?
Text is an important part and using a font made by someone other than you rarely looks original.

Anyway, you apparently did some useless metal thing to the background. then you brushed 2 crappy lines and your nickname... please put some work to your stuff, that looks like it took 10 seconds to make... Oh well, you might get better.
