The Bush proposed bailout
The Bush administration has just announced a new plan to spend 700 billion dollars on a corporate bailout plan in an attempt to save the market from its worst downfall since the depression. If this works it will really help the economy by giving the banks more confidence so they will give out more loans than they have been recently, but it all seems too good to be true. Would it be better to make the banks learn their lesson and not give them relief?

What do you guys think of this new bill?
Lol i love topical humor :P

Okay, I think that spending 700 billion more on top of our government's already extremely large deficit will not only impact the economy negatively, I think that handing money to businesses that have obviously been poorly managed enough to go bankrupt sets a fine precedent: "Don't worry if you (bleep) up, the government will print more money, driving the value of our already essentially superfluous currency down farther, just to get you out of debt."

IMO it is many homebuyers and loan-buyers' faults. They get shit that they can't keep up for and yet they buy it and when they can't pay for their mortgages they default and go bankrupt, and in return, leaving the banks and mortage-loaners with lost money, and so if affects many people because some people don't know the meaning of GETTING ONLY WHAT YOU CAN KEEP UP WITH. Seriously, don't buy a house that you can't pay for monthly and don't get a loan that you cannot pay off...look what it all accumulated to, 700 BILLION...I have not really gone deep into this, but that is what I've learned recently from this.

I say that we should, and let it be an example for all upcoming citizens of what simple mistakes can lead to.

Hmm. The following may seem like something anti-avwave would say, but here it goes.

Dear, U.S.A,

Hello! Long time no see. How are the colonies? Anyway lets cut to the chase.

This is my view on the latest news I heard about you.

The 700 billion dollar monetary injection smells/reeks of party economics. Think about it. Why do this so close to election period? Is the Republican party priming up its chops for a Democratic win?

1: If the democrats win the election, the additional 700 billion DEFICIT would be a black eye to the new administrative party. How are they going to go through with their platform? Aren't they going to be so swamped in fixing this "genius idea"

(Hey! We're in debt... what should we do? SPEND MORE! I mean we're not responsible anymore arent we?)

How are they going through their plan.. they are going to abandon it aren't they... Flipfloppers. We need staunch people to run the country... a government of resolute "Deciders"

2: If the republicans win... It easy to spin that one. "To solve this financial crisis, we shall propose more tax-cuts for the rich to jumpstart the economy, to pay for these debts. The 700 billion spending is nothing compared to the revenue we will reap from it **cough** in the next generation"

Not to be harsh, but the your economy was kind of good (i mean GREAT) before GWB set foot in office. The previous term, you had an economic SURPLUS. Consistent misguided (oxymoronic) economic decisions have put you in a spiral of deficits.

Now a change in administration wouldn't necessarily solve this problem, but a good long look at the American ideal is needed. The US isn't the powerhouse it used to be, and should be more careful about

a. What your government spends on
b. What your corporations spends on
c. What your people spend on

And fix your foreign relations. The world needs you as much as you need the world... We can help... seriously. Get that monkey off your back and his cronies too.

We shouldn't have to pay for other people's mistakes, they should be paying for what they did. The House turned down the bailout, thank goodness.

^ Nuff said.

Oh really, and if it's "nuff said" do you have to post here and say it? Really? Please don't do these kind of things in "serious" discussions, thanks. ~Dalir
