Well my problem with those heads are that the eyes are really in a bad place, bad mapping=bad texture

Not that great of mapping dark but decent design for starters. get familiar with the template then you`ll be making pretty good heads.

i think I've seen someone make these on youtube. They are avatars for youtube of a minecraft skin i believe

Yeah they are youtuber's icons.
