Nice start! I like the mask detailing, its nice. I think you should sketch things out before actually starting on shading and details. Overall, looks nice! Can't wait to see the next wip!

No like have a base color like grey and then do line art it's not nessisary but it keeps you organized and makes the process easier

What brushes do you use?

mostly shaders/spray paint-style tools / low opacity brushes

I think it would looks weird if you make it to be a robot head
Or, before you gone too far, you can make it to be like bane's mask
