nah, nothing like that. its just the professional term for it.
in a bigger firm, id be the technician behind an actual architect.
architect designs a house, then the senior arch tech and arch tech work out how to draw it technically etc
then handing it down to the draughtsmen to do the grunt work.
but practically, i work in a 3 man office, i dont go through all that bs, so its just a qualification on a piece of paper, a term that gives you access to your registration number and limits what you can and cannot do.
an architectural technician i think is limited up to 3 stories and 600m2 floorplans.
architectural technician basically correlates to 3rd year in architecture degree/diploma.
there is an overlay between civil / mechanical engineering in terms of subjects and course work, but nothing really significant.
in the end, regardless of qualification, we'd still need to get an engineers signature on everything that relevant.
it says you were born in '97 though, shouldnt you be 1st year atm?
