I don't think you understand the significance of propaganda, at all really.
While anonymous cannot make any direct actions towards isis' members, they are shutting down recruitment websites, closing accounts, etc. The least you could be is grateful.
Politicians spend thousands of dollars on their campaigns alone, companies pay youtubers stupid amounts of money to play their game so it gets well known, hell you would probably not even know which movie was out if it wasn't for their trailers or commercials.
Now imagine that all of that was taken away, that is what anonymous is trying to do. You can't just assume anonymous will take up arms and just head to syria shooting everyone. They're hackers, of course they will not be able to stop people already brainwashed.
