Point System Extension
So how about making an extension kind of thing, don't really know how to put it...

Basically mods will stay the same (abd/rk/etc) but there will be a different point system. Points will kind of act like health levels where you will start with, say, 100,000 points and instead of getting points once you punch/kick someone points will be deduced from the other person. Frames will stay the same but it will create another way to win - to get the other person to 0 points, "knocking [them] out".

Another thing that could be added is if someone gets more than, say, 20,000 or 30,000 points at once, the other person would be unable to move for like 20-50 frames, imitating a knockdown.

I'm not suggesting to make it a main thing, just like an extension sort of thing where the server owner can turn it on/off when they please.

the knockout hing has been suggested, however this point system you're suggesting could be supportive to that knockout thing, this point system is very creative i think, i like it and it opens alot of possibilities for the game

It can be too easily exploitable.
If I were to play ABD and the point threshold were 150000 points, I would almost always meet a snapkick which can easily deduct at least 50000 points. So now, I'm down to 100000 and the first couple of frames passed. Plus, it would be so annoying to get "knocked out" while in the middle of something that could have made me win the match from small punch to my arms or legs after a drawn out match.
It's like when World of Tanks didn't put malfunctions into their game even though they were looking for the most realism possible. They didn't want people to not understand what the heck was going on and why they couldn't move.

I think that the point threshold limit, sorta like having limited health in a fighting game would be a good idea in some mods. Though this would make some games in certain mods go too quickly depending on the threshold, and the addition may make the game seem unfair to many people, I guess I support the threshold idea with limitations, but it should be with mods that have a different point system (not the default) if they are going to be official servers. I completely hate the knockout/knockdown idea.

this score system has many possibilities, it won't be suitable for competitive mods due to its exploitable and disadvantageous characteristics, just make this toggle-able, the game is already going on for years and i'm positive if this is implemented by default, it will be such a drastic change that people will have hard times adjusting to it, the knockdown system is only applicable at some mods and IF this gets into a version, the devs should be aware of that already and puts it in the game rules tab with unchecked as default, there are a ton of cons in this idea but we shouldn't overlook the good things about this, what i meant by that is that fun seeking players could have more options on their menu, might make competitive sparring possible, and such.

I think that the point system is a great idea, however the knock out thing wouldn't be good in my opinion because you can easily inflict 30 000 damage with a kick.

The point system is an interesting idea but I think it should be implemented in some different public server but we already have a lot of server and I believe that it would make a lot of server for not so much player.

It would be fun to have it as an option in private servers I guess but it`s a lot of work for something that might flop.

Hmm... Well I honestly can't see a reverse scoring system countdown thingy being added, however a win trigger on getting a certain score could be a possibility; if it doesn't already exist (the docs on triggers is a tad wank).

If you combined that with the alternative scoring system typically used in newer striking mods you'd hit something that wouldn't be too bad.

As for the KO part, it's pretty apparent now that the ability to stun a Tori isn't going to happen so you'd have to rely on things like fractures with a high threshold for it. Hardly perfect, but it'll give you something to work from with this idea.

I like the general sound of the idea for implementing it in mods like GTBoxing.tm in order to add more realism to the mod. Though in order to get this done I'm guessing A LOT of code would have to be done for it. Since its an idea that could only be used in some mods and required a lot of work I doubt that the developers will actually consider doing this any time soon.

With more polishing on the idea itself I would possibly support it in the future. As for the moment though I'm fine with the current point system.

I can not possibly agree with this suggestion the issue is that people use too cheap move and will just only go for points instead of fighting. I do no approve of this. I would not like to see the game ruined anymore than it has been by the players and how they fight. People will just find chep trick and ways to kill you in second frame with points.
