Combat Sports thread
Use this thread to talk about anything relating to any combat sports (e.g. MMA, kickboxing, jiu jitsu). Maybe you do the sport or maybe you just want to talk about upcoming events or any other happenings.

I'll kick us off with some UFC talk. Cruz vs. TJ Dillashaw is happening this Sunday - who are you picking to win? It's a toss-up, but I'm going with Cruz - his fight IQ + movement are totally bananas. I don't think he wins by KO/sub, but I think he does enough to win each round and get a decision.
I don't follow the UFC very much but I'd much rather Cruz to win solely because of TJ Dillashaw's name. It's so ghetto

I'm a boxer myself though, just don't see the need to actively follow sports when the times between anticipated fights are so long due to recovery and whatnot
I watched that UFC fight with you and kit, earlier today. I've really only watched a couple of free fights on Youtube, but this is the first that I've watched as a live stream. It was honestly such a good fight and I didn't expect it to turn out the way it did. I think I'll be watching more when they're on, so don't forget to remind me.
Yeah Cruz vs Dillashaw was a good first card to watch. some of the fights were meh but god DAMN TJ and Cruz went at it. I was so hype for that fight and I'm so happy it went off without any injuries.

Wasn't Cruz having trouble standing up after the match though?

Well considering the next big event is Werdum vs. Velasquez, i'm pretty sure Velazquez is gonna pull out the win.
You opened the SpaghettiO's, now you gotta sniff them.
Yep, sea-level Cain is monster Cain. Werdum's going to get eaten up.

And yeah, before the fight Cruz had 'plantar fascia tendonitis'. The tissue that connects the ball of your foot to your heel is called the fascia. When it gets inflamed it turns into plantar fascia tendonitis, which makes the foot hard to walk on. So he fought TJ for 25m on it and it probably didn't feel too good. Cruz is confident that he'll make a quick recovery.
