with the sorta new firmware 3.11 realeased (maybe a month ago) your psp will no longer be able to play homebrew, etc. in a nutshell, if you have firmware 3.11 and wish to download games from sites other than yourpsp.com, you may brick your psp. Whats more is, there is no news from the homebrew scene on whether or not they will create a 3.11oe allowing the user to download games on to the psp again. still if you've already downloaded 3.11, you have a long wait before you can download again

Heh, you need the first Firmware made, in which is 2.7, I think. With the hack, it gets lowered down to Homebrew 1.5 or something.

ROFL you can't do that, it tells you to plug the PSP into a recharger and tells you that it's going to UPGRADE it, how can you miss that?

The first firmware was 1.0 - it was only available in Japan, so if you did not get a Japanese imported PSP (like me), you would have started at firmware 1.5 (for the US).

New firmware releases are a non issue. Just stick with firmware 1.5 and emulate the later firmwares so you can play your games (I emulate 2.6).

There will be work on a downgrader, and it is likely that there will be one, it just takes time.
