Hey everyone,

I've always wanted to hold some contests, but never really appropriated the funds for it. Well, I get slightly annoyed at odd TC amounts, so I'm skimming the top of my TC bank off and using it as a prize for my first contest.

This is an in-house contest, so only Phantoms may enter... and I guess HellRazor members too, since they are pretty cool... (however, if people don't enter, I'll put this in the public events forum... SO ENTER!!!)

So, without further ado, here's the fist ever NoviChallenge!

Theme: Head Texture Design
Focus: Eyes
Judge: Me (Novi)
Prize:

1st- 2518.29 TC, and Typhon Force (thanks ishi!)
2nd- An item (unknown at this time)

Rules:

1. Create a simple, but high quality head texture. Submission should be a 256x256 texture mapped in a 60 frame gimp spinny. You don't have to post the texture, just the spinny. (if you can't make the spinny, PM me your texture and I'll make the spinny for you) You may also submit an in-game shot, if you think it will be supplemental to your entry.

2. Your focus is eye design.

-You can make any number of eyes, be it 1 or 1000, it doesn't matter to me... just remember that I'm looking for an interesting style of eye(s)... It can be intricate or simple.

-Keep your background/non-eye part simple. I don't really want tribal patterns or anything like that on it... it's permissible, but not preferred. Solid colors and gradients are perfect.

3. You may use a maximum of 3 Hue's (colors). You may use any variant saturation or brightness, but limit it to 3. I'm not going to go around with an eyedropper tool to make sure you did, so there's a lot of flex in this rule, so be sneaky. :D

Note: Black and White are not considered colors and are permissible in any variant scale.

4. Give your eye style a name. Extra points and cookies for well named styles. (i.e. "Demon Eyes" = lame. "dragonfry eyes" = good. "Ball-sack eyes"= epic.)

Here is an examples of what I'm looking for as far as simplicity... minus the boring eyes.






So as you can see, this is a pretty simple challenge. This head might only take you ~3 minutes... or more if you want to spend the time on it... it depends on you.

P.S. If you feel like donating anything to supplement the prizes, go ahead and PM me them and I'll appropriate them for each place. I think the prize is fine for the amount of work, but whatev.

Sorry fella's, at the moment, this is exclusive to Phantom and Hellrazor. If there are not enough entries, I'll open it up publicly, but for right now, it's closed.


But don't worry, all three of you. I'm planning on doing some more contests like this in the future, some highlighting little things like I did this time with the eyes. That is... if this contest goes well.
