I end up spending near 300 dollars a month. on insurance because of the kind of cars I drive.

That's not too bad considering what you're driving. In UK you would be paying double or triple that because it all grows depending on the engine size and CO2 emissions. For my BMW I got a quote of £350 a month, which is roughly 500 dollars
