Early 1980's a game developer created an arcade game called MEGA. It was a fighting game where you could pick random characters and fight your way up to the boss who was "Elite" level. Sources stated that the week prior to MEGA release, the developer mysteriously vanished. Because of his disappearance the game unfortunately never got released to the public.

Fast forward to 2020 when a person named AlienSypher came across MEGA in an old abandon warehouse that he purchased to start his fighting school. The machine was caked full of dust with boxes of electronic gadgets and wires beside it. Being a gaming enthusiast, he tinkered with the machine trying to get it to work. Finally he grabs the cord and plugs it into an outlet.

A retro music starts to play, similar to the original tetris song. He got up and he saw the screen with the words MEGA on it. When he clicked start he noticed a character selection screen. There was also a section that showed Top Scores where the game showcased the player with the highest points. On that list had only one name and one score. It said DEV and the score was 999,999 points. Being shocked by the amount of points he proceeded to pick a character and soon entered his first fight.

He grabbed the joystick with his left hand and positioned his right hand over the 2 red buttons. He harnessed his gamer logic and skills to play this "oldie" but "new to him" game with the goal to beat the highest score. Minutes turned to almost an hour when he blazed through a bunch of opponents finally making it to the Elite level boss.

Instead of feeling joy, he felt that something wasn't right. He paused the game and searched on his phone about this game. After reading the article about the developer going missing, the hairs on his back stood up. He looked at the screen and saw that the Elite boss looked exactly like the developer in the article.

He realized what this game was all about. MEGA is unit prefix in metric of 1 million. The developer was testing the game and didn't reach 1 million points so the game took him in. Freaked out yet curious to prove his theory he decided to finish the game.

He played that fight like it was the only fight that mattered in his world. He needed to win. Watching the points rack up he knew he was getting close. He then noticed something strange happening. The harder he fought, the game would start glitching like it didn't want him to reach 1 million points. But despise the obstacles that he faced, he defeated the Elite Boss at a jaw dropping 1.1 million points.

The game credits went on and he entered his name into the list of Top Scores. When he pressed enter, the game began to shake and the screen had a supernatural glow that was getting brighter by the second. Soon he was engulfed by the light and all of a sudden it became pitch black and silent. Then the intro to MEGA came on and the sound played around him. Freaking out, he ran to the light. Eventually the light turned into what looked like a movie screen. He watched as the developer paced around the warehouse like he hasn't seen the world in over 40 years. Hearing the evil laugh of the developer sent chills up his spine. The game let the Developer go and now has a new top player until someone comes and beats his score.


The developer is currently living his life as AlienSypher.
