How to set up and host a successful bet server
Hello Toribashian!
This tutorial will help and guide you through the steps on how to set up and host a successful bet server!
To set up and host a bet server may sound easier said then done but there are a lot of commands and steps to get it going but first you need to know that hosting a bet server takes risks! you have the possibility of nobody joining, losing a lot of TC and nobody betting but don't worry, the more you know the easier hosting a successful bet server gets!
First step to know is when to host your bet server and to know this is determined on how many player's are in-game, to find out this information, type in game chat:
/list
You should see a list pop up in chat like this:
If there are 100+ players in-game, that amount is perfect to start hosting.
Once you know there are enough players are in-game, you can now set up your bet server ready for all those hungry gamblers!
Commands
Type the following in chat:
1) /jo bets
*If it does not exist it will be created and you'll become it's operator (You'll have an @ in front of your username).
*If you're already in the room and you want to change the room's name: /room set bets.
2) Once your server has been made, type these commands into the chat:
- /setowner [password]
*enter a password that you will remember.
- /owner - Typing in the correct password you set will make you a room operator again.
*If you disconnect from your server, type in this command => the password you used.
- /house [your nickname] - This will rake in the bets to you
- /maxclients 28 - How many player's can join your server
*Leave this at 28 because any higher can risk the server being ghosted and nobody will see your server or be able to join.
- /desc [bets [tc amount] DP] - This shows the description for your room on the server's
*Add how much TC is in the current decap-prize, this will how how much TC is in the decap-prize in the description of the server's list.
- /motd [1k DP | 5k min SB | 5k min raise] - Set's the message in chat when player's join.
- /set mod aikidobigdojo.tbm
- /rt - Resets the current match
*Only reset the match if one of the fighting players have missed their self bet, the match glitched or if one of them went afk.
*Both player's must agree to reset the match, do not do it for your own purpose.
- /min bet 100 - Sets the minimum amount of TC player's are allowed to bet
- /decapprize [amount]
*ONLY add your TC to the decap prize pool once 10 - 15+ players have joined your bet server.
Note(s):If you would like to change the colour(s) of your /motd and /desc and make them stand out, you can find each colour in a numerical form.
For example: If you wanted to change your server's description to red, you would type in the chat < ^02 bets 50k TC DP >.
You can also change each letter and word to different colours just by typing the command < "^01 - 10" >.
Remember that before ^10 you will need to add a "0" before each number.

Broadcasting
Once you have set up your bet server completely, you are now ready to globalize your bet server draw a lot of attention to the whole community to join your wonderful bet server; also globalizing your bet server will put a pop up on the player's screens that are playing at that current time and it will also notify the Toribash discord.
This is the first risky step of making your bet server, because the price of a broadcast is a little pricey. The price of your broadcast will cost 10k TC from your account.
What you are looking to type in your broadcast is:
/jo bets for [amount] DP and for some high betting action!
*Type in how much TC you are wanting to add to the decap-prize, it doesn't have to be a lot... but enough to bring players in. (15k+ TC)

IMPORTANT:
*Once you have sent your broadcast, there is no going back... globalizing your bet server will notify everyone.
*DO NOT SPAM THE BROADCAST OTHERWISE YOU RISK GETTING AN INFRACTION OR A BAN!
How to run your bet server
Running your bet server with actual players in there. You will have a lot of responsibilities, mostly nudging players and keeping an eye on the queue but it get easier as time goes by.
Here are a list of commands you will need to use and a list that aren't as common but are here just in case.
Most common and useful commands:- /nudge [nickname] [queue position]
*To nudge a player to any position in queue from 1 (at the top of queue) to 28 (at the bottom of queue).
- /cancelbets - Cancel's all the bets by paying them back
*ONLY use this command if a player has not self-bet or sponsored someone the right amount, this will save you from a lot of problems.
- /rt - Resets the match
*Use this command after /cancelbets when the match glitches, bet wrong amount of TC or if they missed their bet.
- /mute [nickname] - Mute's a single player.
*Use this command if a player is being rude or breaking any global rules.
- /unmute [nickname] - Unmute's a single player
- /muteall - Mutes the entire server
*Anyone that is an operator and staff members that are in the server will not be muted.
- /kick [nickname] - kicks a single player from the server
*Use this if someone has carried on being rude but they can still join back.
- /ban add [nickname] - bans someone from re-entering your server.
*Use this command if someone has completely ignored your rules.
Not very common commands:
These commands can be used for personal use to check your own stats, other player's stats
and other.
- /earnings [nickname] - Show's how much TC a player has made from winning/losing bets from the time you/they joined the server.
- /tourneystats - Shows how much TC you have made from house rake and enter fee's
*Only you, other operator's and staff can check the tourney stats.
- /minbelt [amount] - Sets the qi restriction
*The player with less games played won't be able to join the server.
- /cp [message] - Sets a typed message in the center of every player's screen (that are in the same server as you)
How nudges work and when to use them
One of the main factors that keeps players intrigued are the nudges, many players will spend their TC to be at the top of the line when they are itching to fight, always keep an eye on this.
Nudging player's to different positions are one if not the main command you will be using and that will be keeping the server alive and running smoothly. Player's will be betting 5k+ TC on themselves to be put at the top of the time.
When the server starts, you will notice some players typing "SB 5k" in the chat, this is your que to nudge them to the acceptable position in the queue but how do you know where to nudge them?
Each nudge costs 5k TC minimum which will be at the bottom of the Self Bet Line, the self bet amount will increase every 5k:
5k -> 10k -> 15k etc. The more player's bet on themselves, the higher up the queue they go.
Sponsor(s)
What are sponsor(s) and how they work.
Sponsors are another thing you will see a lot, player's will bet on other player's.
example: If a player was to type in chat "15k sponsor on [nickname]" you will nudge said player's name to the correct position in queue for that amount of TC.
Remember, both sponsors and self bets are the same when it comes to positions in queue and the amount of TC placed on them, no exemptions.
Decap Prize's
What are they and how they work
Decap prize's is the main thing that will bring people into your bet server, a decap prize is a prize pool where there is a big amount of TC. To win the amount of TC that is in the decap prize, player's will have to knock or rip the opponents head off and win the match as well, if the player who ripped the head off his opponent loses, the decap prize stays, if they win then the decap prize goes to them.
Player's can also get a nudge from adding their TCs to the decap prize. Each decap prize nudge will cost 1k TC, once they have added 1k TC to the decap prize, they are entitled to a nudge but this nudge will put them under all of player's that are self betting and who are being sponsored.
A major controversy among player's about decap prizes are rigging. Rigging is a form of rule breaking where 2 player's play against each other and agree that one of them takes the decap prize so that they can split the prize between the both of them. This is against the rules and a ban-able offense. There isn't a clear way to see if player's are rigging and so this is where you need to use your best judgement and decide whether or not it was a rig or not, if this situation does come by, you can simple save the match's replay, screenshot your WHOLE CLIENT and report.
Follow this
link if you find people rigging or breaking any type of rules in your bet server.
If you're lucky, you might have a staff member already in your bet server so you can just type /whisper [nickname] and tell them with a quicker response if they aren't AFK.
Co-host
Co host's can SOMETIMES be useful and helpful but most of the time you won't need any. Having a second person as an operator of your bet server may be helpful if you need that second hand/opinion when the server gets out of hand: when a rig takes place, rules being broken and all that stuff and nobody likes to be put into pressure; another reason to have another operator around is if you need to go AFK for a few minutes, they can take over for the time being until you are back but you will need to trust someone to have all this power.
If you see anybody you know very well, a clan member or even a staff member, ask them if they could take over for the time being and then give them operator if they agree, to do this: type /op [nickname].
HOWEVER, do not pick someone who you know has been a nuisance in the past or in your sever, do not pick someone that you think will completely take over the server and change everything, your co-host also reflects on you and they can either make you look good or bad depending on how they act.
Once you have somebody you trust to take care of your bet server, it helps them if you tell them what current queue positions and how much some player's have self betted and or sponsored other's, so I recommend messaging them privately by typing: /whisper [nickname].
Then simply telling them the nudge line.
example:
[nickname] 15k SB
[nickname] 10k SB
[nickname] 5k sponsor
[nickname] 1k DP
*SB = Self Bet
*DP = Decap Prize
This will tell the other operator how much each player are paying to stay up the line so that he can keep track without your message getting lost into the main chat.
How to make TC from your bet server
The ways to make TC:- Rake from house - You will be taking 10% from the TC that was lost from every match.
- Betting on players - Betting on player's can be risky but it is worth betting on people for a twist.
The best way to make TC from the two is the house, it's slow and you might not make that much early on but as time goes on and the server grows, more players will start betting higher amounts of TC and you could be on your way to making 15k+ TC every match but this is only if the server goes well and you've done a good job on keeping your bet server active and focusing on nudges.
Eventually the server will die and the player's will gradually leave, this will always happen to every bet server no matter what, this usually happens when the decap prize has been taken by a player or the bets start slowing down and decreasing.
Hopefully this helped all of you new players that want to start hosting and hopefully it helped all those player's that want to know how to host a successful bet server or to start hosting.
If I have anymore information I will be updating this thread if anything changes in the future.
If I have forgotten anything or if anything needs correcting, don't hesitate to jot it down below for me.
Cheer's for reading, lads.
